RESEARCH REGARDING THE MODAL PARAMETERS IDENTIFICATION FOR METALLIC STRUCTURES (II) [PDF]

open access: yesFiabilitate şi Durabilitate, 2012
Starting from the theoretical background written in [1], we present the package programs software realized by the authors for modal parameters identification of this kind of structures.

Ambient vibration re-testing and operational modal analysis of the Humber Bridge [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
An ambient vibration survey of the Humber Bridge was carried out in July 2008 by a combined team from the UK, Portugal and Hong Kong. The exercise had several purposes that included the evaluation of the current technology for instrumentation and system ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Modeling uncertainty of flexible structures with unknown high-order modal parameters - a geometric characterization of frequency responses [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
A control-oriented uncertainty modeling on frequency domain is presented for a class of spectral systems with unknown high-order modal parameters.

Generalized modulational instability in multimode fibers: wideband multimode parametric amplification

open access: yes, 2015
In this paper intermodal modulational instability (IM-MI) is analyzed in a multimode fiber where several spatial and polarization modes propagate. The coupled nonlinear Schr\"{o}dinger equations describing the modal evolution in the fiber are linearized ...

Dynamic Identification of a Lightly Damped Slender Structure Using Compressive Sensing

open access: yesIEEE Access
A great deal of signals coming from structural monitoring scenarios are sparse in the frequency domain, suggesting the application of Compressive Sensing (CS) techniques in order to reduce the quantity of transmitted information.
