Sliding mode control of power converters: DC/DC converters

International Journal of Control, 2017
ABSTRACTIn recent years, a lot of research efforts have been devoted to the application of sliding mode control (SMC) techniques to power electronic equipment and electrical drives. Hundreds of technical papers have been published in this research field.

Mode order converter

Optics Communications, 1974
Abstract We report experimental results with a simple mode order converter for dielectric slab waveguides. In particular we have shown conversion of higher order modes to the only mode of a monomode waveguide.

THE FAMILY OF COMMUTATION MODES OF CONVERTERS

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1983
Abstract The variety of converters and their connection to the AC network power supply, leads to different commutation process and behavories of the converter. In order to define the static characteristic of converters, depending essentially on their commutation process, it is interesting to define the Family of Commutation Modes comprehending all ...

Impedance analysis of control modes in cascaded converter

IECON 2015 - 41st Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2015
Constant power load converter will introduce unstable factor to the cascaded system. Exchanging the position of constant power load converter as the source converter can improve system stability. Active solutions to modify the negative impedance of constant power load converter can also make the system more stable.

About compressional, converted mode, and shear statics

The Leading Edge, 2002
Strong near-surface lateral variations, the lack of a smooth shallow refraction marker, and poor signal-to-noise ratio, can, either alone or in combination, induce residual static problems that affect the seismic result in different ways. These depend on the amplitude and wavelength characteristics of the residual anomalies.

A novel cylindrical TE2,1 mode converter

Review of Scientific Instruments, 2010
A novel, compact arrangement for Ka-band mode couplers, which convert a rectangular waveguide TE1,0 to cylindrical waveguide TE2,1 mode, has been designed, constructed, and tested. The design features a set of longitudinal slots, positioned in regions of negligible current flow for the TE2,1 mode, allowing its propagation to be preferentially favored ...

Matrix factorization of the mode converter

Optics & Laser Technology, 2005
Based on the basic properties of the reciprocal symmetrical matrix, a method is proposed, which permits us to factorize the transfer matrix of the mode converter into a product of reciprocal symmetrical matrices. The procedure is simple and is suited for computer calculations. Some factorization examples are given and illustrated.

A Metasurface Based Mode Converter

2019 Thirteenth International Congress on Artificial Materials for Novel Wave Phenomena (Metamaterials), 2019
We report a mode converter using reflectionless metasurfaces. The mode converter consists of five inhomogeneous electric sheets cascaded within a cylindrical waveguide. The sheet profiles are calculated analytically using a modal wave matrix formulation. The modal wave matrices are derived using the Discrete Hankel Transform.

Self-induced mode converter

2013 IEEE 2nd International Workshop "Nonlinear Photonics" (NLP*2013), 2013
We report on the experimental and theoretical investigation of nonlinear transformations of higher-order spatial solitons in nematic liquid crystals. We demonstrate the power-dependent conversion of a quadrupole Hermite-Gaussian mode into a single-ring Laguerre-Gaussian modal beam.

On the use of sliding mode control in bidirectional converters

1993 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2002
The authors consider the control of a bidirectional C/spl caron/uk converter. They analyze the generation of sinusoidal power waveforms in the converter output using time varying sliding surfaces and considering the reference signal as locally constant.
