Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Spectral modeling of switched-mode power converters [PDF]
A new modeling approach for the spectral analysis of pulsewidth modulated (PWM) converters with independent inputs is developed. The key of this approach is to extend the Volterra functional series to nonlinear systems with multiple independent inputs. After formulating the state-space equations describing the dynamical behavior of PWM converters, the ...

Microcontroller based bidirectional buck–boost converter for photo-voltaic power plant
A common configuration for a stand-alone PV power system may consist of three converters: a buck converter for the PV panel to charge the battery, a boost converter for the battery to discharge to the load and one for the load voltage regulation.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Rectangular TE30 to TE10 Mode Converter
A new type of mode converter that converts TE 30 to TE 10 mode is proposed. As an example of the ease of fabrication, holes can be drilled at the top of a metallic waveguide and dielectric rods inserted. This converter is useful for application as a power divider or power combiner.

An electric vehicle (EV) usually has two main power converters, namely one for the motor drive system and another for the battery-charging system. Considering the similarities between both converters, a new unified power converter for motor drive and ...

This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

Constant-frequency clamped-mode resonant converters [PDF]
Two clamped-mode resonant converters are proposed which operate at a constant frequency while retaining the desired features of conventional series- and parallel-resonant converters. State-plane analyses are performed which identify all possible circuit-operating modes of a clamped-mode series-resonant converter and define their mode boundaries.
