Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Dynamic Property Preservation in AIoT: A Machine Learning Approach for Data-Efficient Model Transformation

open access: yesIEEE Access
Model-driven development (MDD) in the Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) domain faces significant challenges in ensuring the consistency and preservation of model properties during transformations, often leading to system inconsistencies.

Maturity of Software Modelling and Model Driven Engineering: a Survey in the Italian Industry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Background: The main claimed advantage of Model-driven engineering is improvement in productivity. However, few information is available about its actual adoption during software development and maintenance in the industry.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Poole -- Model-Driven Architecture. ECOOP 2001. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
This paper surveys the core OMG MDA standards (i.e., UML, MOF, XMI and CWM) and discusses the current attempts at mapping these standards to J2EE, as examples of PIM-to-PSM translations that are currently under development.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Development of a Framework-Independent Code Generator From State Machine Diagrams

open access: yesIEEE Access
State machine diagrams offer the advantage of expressing the system clearly and easily to understand because they express the operation of the system in highly readable graphics. In addition, codes can be automatically generated from models created using

Model Driven Development of Security Aspects

open access: yesElectronic Notes in Theoretical Computer Science, 2007
AbstractThe development of security-critical large-scale distributed software systems is a difficult and error prone process. As we learnt from practical experiences, it is especially difficult to manually define security policies, for example for access control.

Semantic model-driven development of service-centric software architectures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Service-oriented architecture (SOA) is a recent architectural paradigm that has received much attention. The prevalent focus on platforms such as Web services, however, needs to be complemented by appropriate software engineering methods.
