A dynamical model of prominence loops
Solar Physics, 1989A dynamical model of prominence loops is constructed on the basis of the theory of hydromagnetic buoyancy force. A prominence loop is regarded as a flux rope immersed in the solar atmosphere above a bipolar region of the photospheric magnetic field. The motion of a loop is partitioned into a translational motion, which accounts for the displacement of ...

3D City Modeling Using Cognitive Loops
Third International Symposium on 3D Data Processing, Visualization, and Transmission (3DPVT'06), 20063D city modeling using computer vision is very challenging. A typical city contains objects which are a nightmare for some vision algorithms, while other algorithms have been designed to identify exactly these parts but, in their turn, suffer from other weaknesses which limit their application.

Model-in-the-Loop Testing of a Railway Interlocking System
2015Model-driven techniques offer new solutions to support development and verification and validation (V&V) activities of software-intensive systems. As they can reduce costs, and ease the certification process as well, they are attractive also in safety-critical domains.

String-inspired supergravity model at one loop
Physical Review D, 1992We study a prototype supergravity model from superstrings, with three generations of matter fields in the untwisted sector, nonperturbatively induced supersymmetry breaking and including threshold corrections in conformity with modular invariance.

Formal Model In-The-Loop for Secure Industrial Control Networks
2022Current trends of digitalization are becoming significantly prevalent within the field of industrial control systems. While in recent history a typical industrial control system would have been isolated with rudimentary ways of extracting data, nowadays it is becoming expected that the control system could not only provide large amounts of data over ...

On the stability of a linear bioprocess model with recycle loop
IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 2005In this note, we treat a linear bioprocess model with recycle loop and analyze the spectrum of the closed-loop operator in order to discuss the exponential stability. It is shown that a C/sub 0/-semigroup generated by the closed-loop operator satisfies the spectrum determined growth assumption and that the recycle loop works effectively for the process

A Computational Model for Gut Looping
ASME 2010 Summer Bioengineering Conference, Parts A and B, 2010In chick embryos, a series of complex invaginations involving the three germ layers (endoderm, ectoderm, and mesoderm) lead to the formation of the primitive gut tube. This process normally occurs during the third day of development, at the end of which the gut appears as an open cylindrical tube (Fig.1A).

Modeling optical microfiber loops for seawater sensing
Applied Optics, 2012Based on resonant and waveguiding properties of optical microfiber loops, we theoretically investigated silica microfiber loop resonators (MLRs) for refractive index (RI) and salinity sensing of seawater. Dependences of sensitivity and detection limit on probing wavelength, fiber diameter, and ring diameter are calculated with typical parameters of ...

Ginzburg--Landau Model in Thin Loops with Narrow Constrictions
SIAM Journal on Applied Mathematics, 2004Summary: We consider the Ginzburg-Landau model for a superconducting thin ring in the presence of an applied field. The ring is constricted, and we derive an asymptotic form for the energy as the ring thickness tends to zero. The constriction leads in the limit to a jump condition for the order parameter, yielding a transmission condition across the ...

Modeling the thalamocortical loop.
International journal of bio-medical computing, 1994This work proposes a mathematical model for the thalamic gateway to the cortex. In this model, the ionic currents considered and the structural details are in accordance with the biomedical experimental data. To validate the model, three series of simulations were performed in different levels of complexity.
