Exploring a model-driven architecture (MDA) approach to health care information systems development

International Journal of Medical Informatics, 2008
To explore the potential of the model-driven architecture (MDA) in health care information systems development. An MDA is conceptualized and developed for a health clinic system to track patient information. A prototype of the MDA is implemented using an advanced MDA tool. The UML provides the underlying modeling support in the form of the class diagram.

Introduction: Models, Modeling, and Model-Driven Architecture (MDA)

2005
Models, modeling, and Model-Driven Architecture (MDA) are the basis for a set of development approaches known as model-driven development (MDD). Models are used to reason about a problem domain and design a solution in the solution domain. Relationships between these models provide a web of dependencies that record the process by which a solution is ...

An overview of model driven architecture ® (MDA®)

Proceedings of the 5th international workshop on Software and performance, 2005
This talk provides an overview of Model Driven Architecture (MDA). It outlines the economic drivers of MDA, gives a broad outline of the scope of MDA, and projects the future of MDA.

Model Driven Architecture (MDA)

Advances in Computer and Electrical Engineering Book Series, 2010
The architecture of a system is a specification of software components, interrelationships, and rules for component interactions and evolution over time. In 2001 OMG, adopted an architecture standard, the Model Driven Architecture (MDA). MDA is an architectural framework for improving portability, interoperability and reusability through separation of ...

Designing and Developing Medical Device Software Systems Using the Model Driven Architecture (MDA)

2007 Joint Workshop on High Confidence Medical Devices, Software, and Systems and Medical Device Plug-and-Play Interoperability (HCMDSS-MDPnP 2007), 2007
On the surface, model-driven architecture (MDA) appears to be a fundamentally new paradigm compared to traditional software development. Upon closer examination, however, MDA mainly shifts the focus of iterative development to a higher level of abstraction.

Practical Insights into Model-Driven Architecture: Lessons from the Design and Use of an MDA Toolkit

2005
There has been much discussion about the role and importance of model-driven development (MDD) and Model-Driven Architecture (MDA) as a way to improve the productivity and quality of enterprise application development. However, few documented experiences with the use of MDA styles of development are available.

A Comprehensive Investigation of Model Driven Architecture (MDA) for Reverse Engineering

Proceedings of the 2017 International Conference on Software and e-Business, 2017
Models and transformations are the primary elements of Model Driven Architecture (MDA). On the other hand, Reverse Engineering (RE) also deals with the intermediate models and different transformation practices to produce the desired output models. Consequently, MDA have been utilized in the field of reverse engineering.

Designing Embedded Real-Time Systems (ERTS) With Model Driven Architecture (MDA)

SAE Technical Paper Series, 2004
<div class="htmlview paragraph">Today, in a typical car, electromechanical components contribute roughly 30% to the total vehicle cost with Embedded Real Time Systems (ERTS) responsible for roughly 80% of major controls functions. ERTS units influence the quality of the end product, and thus customer satisfaction.

MDA(Model Driven Architecture) based Design for Multitasking of Heterogeneous Embedded System

The KIPS Transactions:PartD, 2008
The complicated embedded system for multi-tasking requires RTOS(real-time operating system). It uses the optimal OS and processor to each embedded system on the heterogeneous development environment. This paper is proposed to use UML profile of OS API and Processor Configuration, instead of cross-compiling for developing the heterogeneous embedded ...
