Prediction Horizon-varying Model Predictive Control (MPC)for Autonomous Vehicle Control

open access: yesElectronics
Abstract The prediction horizon is a key parameter in model predictive control (MPC), related to the effectiveness and stability of model predictive control. In vehicle control, the selection of prediction horizon is influenced by factors such as speed, path curvature, and target point density.

CoNi-MPC: Cooperative Non-inertial Frame Based Model Predictive Control

open access: yesIEEE Robotics and Automation Letters, 2023
This paper presents a novel solution for UAV control in cooperative multi-robot systems, which can be used in various scenarios such as leader-following, landing on a moving base, or specific relative motion with a target. Unlike classical methods that tackle UAV control in the world frame, we directly control the UAV in the target coordinate frame ...

A Functional 2D Carbon Allotrope Combining Nanoporous Graphene and Biphenylene Segments

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The synthesis of a novel nanoporous graphene (NPG) is reported with biphenylene segments via thermal fusion of 12‐armchair porous graphene nanoribbons grown on gold surfaces. Characterization using STM, AFM, and DFT reveals low‐defect semiconducting behaviour and tunable band gaps.

Multiobjective Codesign Optimization of a Planar Pneumatic Artificial Muscle‐Based Snake‐Like Robot for Enhanced Agility and Energy Efficiency

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A codesign multiobjective optimization framework was developed to enhance the morphology and controller of a snake‐like robot driven by artificial muscles. It improved planar locomotion, agility, and power efficiency. The approach optimized link geometry and controller gains, revealing that shorter muscles near joints and longer linkages maximize ...

Extended model predictive control: robust controller with matching condition

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2020
This paper describes a new robust controller based on Model Predictive Control (MPC). MPC is one of the useful control methods because it enables to design time response intuitively and to consider the constraint of state and input. However, MPC does not

Nonlocomotory Robotic Strategies for Dynamic Rotation Control in Terrestrial Robots: A Review

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Terrestrial robots increasingly require rapid body rotation to maintain stability and agility in complex environments. This review shows nonlocomotory rotational control strategies that operate without ground contact, including reaction wheels, tails, bars, limbs, and thrusters.
