Mechanisms of DNA methylation and histone modifications

2023
The field of genetics has expanded a lot in the past few decades due to the accessibility of human genome sequences, but still, the regulation of transcription cannot be explicated exclusively by the sequence of DNA of an individual. The coordination and crosstalk between chromatin factors which are conserved is indispensable for all living creatures ...

Modification of spastic gait through mechanical damping

Journal of Biomechanics, 1985
The effect of dissipative mechanical loads on spastic gait has been studied, to evaluate the feasibility of using mechanically damped orthoses to effect functional improvements in the gait of spastic patients. This concept is based on a hypothesis citing uninhibited, velocity-dependent stretch reflexes as a possible causal factor in spastic gait ...

The Mechanics of Modification

1963
In earlier chapters we have considered many aspects of the technique of engine modification. In this final chapter we shall discuss a few of the practical problems one meets when applying these techniques. This chapter is something of a hotch-potch with very little logic in its arrangement, but a liberal use of headings will help the reader to find a ...

Mechanisms of metabolism-coupled protein modifications

Nature Chemical Biology
Intricate coupling between metabolism and protein post-translational modifications (PTMs) has emerged as a fundamental aspect of cellular regulation. Recent studies demonstrate that protein modifications can originate from diverse metabolites, and that their regulation is closely tied to the cellular metabolic state.

Mechanisms of tubulin modification by phosphatidylcholine hydroperoxides

Lipids, 2000
AbstractThe interaction of lipid peroxides with cellular proteins has been postulated to contribute to cellular aging. A potential target for such effects is tubulin, the building block of microtubules. We examined the concentration‐dependent effects of phosphatidylcholine hydroperoxides on the ability of tubulin to polymerize into microtubules.

MECHANICAL WOOD MODIFICATION METHODS

2016
The wood material has been the most preferable material in order to  meet the needs of accommodation, transport and social since human beings existed. The different “Wood Modification Methods” has been  developed as a result of all the scientific studies and researches in order to remove the negative characteristics of the wood material from  centuries

Molecular Mechanism of Memory Modification

Neuroscience and Behavioral Physiology, 2018
The present review of our own and published data proposes a hypothesis for the molecular mechanisms regulating synaptic efficiency which may underlie long-term changes in behavior and modification of memory on the reactivation. The hypotheses is based on data on role of the atypical protein kinase molecule Mζ in long-term changes in synaptic efficiency

MODIFICATION OF SPASTIC GAIT THROUGH MECHANICAL DAMPING

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1982
A feasibility study investigating the use of dissipative mechanical damping loads to modify spastic gait is currently underway. The concept of a mechanically damped orthosis is based on a hypothesis citing velocity-dependent stretch reflexes as a causal factor in certain spastic gait abnormalities, such as equinus and backkneeing.

Mechanisms of radiation stimulated modification of fullerenes

International Conference on Science and Technology of Synthetic Metals, 1994
Summary form only given. This paper deals with theoretical investigation of radiation influence on fullerenes. Our approach is based on the cross-word system. Irradiation affects by means of four basic factors: elastic displacement of atoms, ionization, shock waves, heat emission.
