River Ice Analyses and Roughness Calculations Using Underwater Drones and Photogrammetric Approach

open access: yesHydrological Processes, Volume 40, Issue 7, July 2026.
This study presents a methodology for determining hydraulic roughness (Manning's n) of fluvial ice using underwater drone and Structure from Motion (SfM) photogrammetry. The findings show that cost‐efficient equipment can be used to determine Manning's n for river ice, which supports modelling efforts, especially under intense warming in northern areas.

Solid–Liquid Triboelectric Nanogenerators as Physicochemical Encoders for Intelligent Liquid Recognition

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Materials, Volume 5, Issue 4, Page 573-608, July 2026.
Solid–liquid triboelectric nanogenerators are conceptualized as dynamic physicochemical encoders that encode intrinsic liquid properties into distinguishable triboelectric fingerprints. This review provides a unified framework for these platforms, covering sensing mechanisms in droplet impact, continuous flow, and immersion modes.

A Surrogate Model for Stability Assessment of Two‐Layered Cohesive Slopes

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical and Analytical Methods in Geomechanics, Volume 50, Issue 10, Page 4142-4163, July 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper introduces a novel surrogate model for rapid stability evaluation of two‐layered cohesive slopes under undrained conditions. The model eliminates the need for iterative calculations and slip surface searches, allowing for fast and accurate stability assessments without reliance on advanced numerical tools. The formulation is derived

A Generalized Automated Framework for Thermal Characterization: From Bulk Materials to Complex Heterostructures

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 37, 2 July 2026.
An automated MATLAB framework for inverse photoacoustic analysis enables precise thermal characterization of complex multilayer films. Application to electrodeposited CuxSe reveals a stoichiometry‐dependent thermal conductivity governed by lattice anharmonicity, not grain‐size scattering, in these superionic materials. ABSTRACT Precise determination of

Thermal Buckling and Vibrational Characteristics of Curved Sandwich Nanoplates Featuring Anti‐Trichiral Auxetic Core and Graphene‐Reinforced Foam Surface Layers

open access: yesZAMM - Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics / Zeitschrift für Angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik, Volume 106, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT This study presents a rigorous investigation into the thermomechanical vibration characteristics of functionally graded (FG) curved sandwich nanoplates. The novelty of this research lies in the simultaneous evaluation of diverse porosity distributions, graphene reinforcement levels, and curvature configurations within a unified framework that ...
