Measuring moisture content in a porous insulation package with finite thickness

International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, 2019
Porous insulation materials may acquire moisture, and the moisture content must be accurately measured for appropriate maintenance of the materials. Current thermal methods for measuring moisture are applicable only to an infinite test domain. This paper

Equilibrium Moisture Content of Tea

Journal of Agricultural Engineering Research, 1999
A method of measuring equilibrium moisture content relations for tea was investigated at temperatures from ambient up to 90°C used in drying. The method used a high-temperature chilled mirror dewpoint meter with the sample in a sealed chamber in a temperature-controlled oven.

Effect of moisture content on mechanical and damage behavior of frozen loess under triaxial condition along with different confining pressures

Cold Regions Science and Technology, 2019
Combining to the triaxial compression or loading-unloading cyclic tests of frozen loess with moisture content of 12.31% and foregoing testing results with moisture content of 16.68% and 23.70% to further investigate the effect of moisture content on ...

Visual detection of the moisture content of tea leaves with hyperspectral imaging technology

Journal of Food Engineering, 2019
Hitherto, the rapid and nondestructive determination of the moisture content of tea leaves is still an unresolved issue because the upward facing surfaces of tea leaves lying on a conveyor belt are randomly chosen by the collapse of the leaves onto their

Effect of moisture content on structural evolution characteristics of bituminous coal subjected to high-voltage electrical pulses

Fuel, 2019
In recent years, high-voltage electric pulse (HVEP) technology has been suggested to improve the permeability of coal seams. However, the effect of moisture content on the structure evolution of coal subjected to HVEP is not clear, which restricts the ...

Biomass gasification in fluidized beds: A review of biomass moisture content and operating pressure effects

Renewable & Sustainable Energy Reviews, 2018
The global dependence on fossil reserves as well as the environmental aspects related to them are some of the factors that propel research on renewable energy forms. Gasification, a thermochemical process that converts carbonaceous resources into syngas,

EFFECTS OF VARIETY AND HARVEST MOISTURE CONTENT ON EQUILIBRIUM MOISTURE CONTENTS OF RICE

Applied Engineering in Agriculture, 2000
Equilibrium moisture contents (EMC) of two long-grain rice varieties (Kaybonnet and Cypress) and one medium-grain variety (Bengal) were measured at temperatures of 4, 21, and 38°C with relative humidities (RHs) ranging from 11 to 96%. In addition to temperature and RH, variety was a significant factor affecting rice EMC.
