Equilibrium Moisture Content of Tea

Journal of Agricultural Engineering Research, 1999
A method of measuring equilibrium moisture content relations for tea was investigated at temperatures from ambient up to 90°C used in drying. The method used a high-temperature chilled mirror dewpoint meter with the sample in a sealed chamber in a temperature-controlled oven.

Moisture Content Determination

2019
Building materials are, for the most part, porous structures which generate permanent changes when in contact with moisture, which could be in the vapour phase and in the liquid phase, with the environment in which they are placed. This behaviour conditioned their properties and their durability. It should be noted that humidity is a major cause of the

Moisture Content Determination

2017
The moisture (or total solids) content of foods is important to food manufacturers for a variety of reasons. This laboratory exercise includes moisture content determination by a variety of techniques on various food products: (a) forced draft oven; (b) vacuum oven, with and without the use of drying sand; (c) microwave drying oven; (d) rapid moisture ...

Equilibrium Moisture Content of Clay Bricks

Key Engineering Materials, 2004
The equilibrium moisture content (MEq) of ordinary and lightweight clay bricks was measured and the correlation with the microstructure and pore morphology was investigated. The influence of the pore specific surface on the amount of moisture absorbed at equilibrium conditions, in correspondence of different relative humidity rates, was found to be ...

Measuring foliar moisture content with a moisture analyzer

Canadian Journal of Forest Research, 2015
Near-instantaneous estimation of the moisture content of live fuels is complicated because of the large control exerted by physiological mechanisms. The commonly accepted reference method for measuring fuel moisture content is oven drying, which is time consuming.

EFFECTS OF VARIETY AND HARVEST MOISTURE CONTENT ON EQUILIBRIUM MOISTURE CONTENTS OF RICE

Applied Engineering in Agriculture, 2000
Equilibrium moisture contents (EMC) of two long-grain rice varieties (Kaybonnet and Cypress) and one medium-grain variety (Bengal) were measured at temperatures of 4, 21, and 38°C with relative humidities (RHs) ranging from 11 to 96%. In addition to temperature and RH, variety was a significant factor affecting rice EMC.

MEASUREMENT OF COTTON BALE MOISTURE CONTENT AFTER MOISTURE RESTORATION

Applied Engineering in Agriculture, 2003
Proper control of the moisture restored to ginned lint before it is baled in commercial gins requires accurate moisture sensors. In this study, two resistance–based moisture content (mc) indicators were used, one located before moisture was added and the other after moisture was added with humidified air.

Moisture content of carbon blacks

Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Analytical Edition, 1930
Abstract A METHOD for the determination of total moisture in carbon blacks recently proposed (1) involves mixing the sample (5 grams) with 25 cc. of dry xylene and 200 cc. of dry mineral oil, heating to 175° C., passing dry nitrogen through the system until the xylene and water have been displaced from the carbon black-oil mixture, and ...

Critical Moisture Content of Dehydrated Stockfish

Nature, 1947
Investigations conducted in this Laboratory into the dehydration of stockfish (Merluccius capensis) have indicated that the moisture content of the dried product has a great influence on its keeping quality.
