Research Article Morphological, cytogenetic, and molecular characterization of Arachis kuhlmannii Krapov. & W.C. Greg. (Leguminosae).

open access: yes, 2017
Arachis kuhlmannii occurs in Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul States, Brazil. Its area of occurrence partially overlaps with that of other species in the Arachis section. Because of their morphological similarities, these species are often mistaken one

Neoadjuvant chemotherapy affects molecular classification of colorectal tumors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The recent discovery of 'molecular subtypes' in human primary colorectal cancer has revealed correlations between subtype, propensity to metastasize and response to therapy.

Finding novel vulnerabilities of hypomorphic BRCA1 alleles

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Synthetic lethality screens performed to identify novel vulnerabilities often model complete gene loss, thereby overlooking patient‐derived hypomorphic mutations. In this study, we have performed genome‐wide CRISPR screens on BRCA1 hypomorphic mutations, showing BRCA1I26A behaves like wild‐type, while BRCA1R1699Q mimics deficiency. Furthermore, we have

Classification with binary gene expressions

open access: yes, 2009
Microarray gene expression measurements are reported, used and archived usually to high numerical precision. However, properties of mRNA molecules, such as their low stability and availability in small copy numbers, and the fact that measurements ...

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Microcystic, elongated, and fragmented (MELF) pattern of myometrial invasion in grade 1–2 endometrioid endometrial carcinoma: clinicopathological associations, molecular profile, and prognostic significance under FIGO 2023 staging

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology
BackgroundThe microcystic, elongated, and fragmented (MELF) pattern of myometrial invasion is a morphological feature of endometrioid endometrial carcinoma (EEC) with debated prognostic significance. Most prior studies evaluated MELF across heterogeneous

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

An experimental comparison of classification algorithms for hierarchical prediction of protein function [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Some data can be naturally organised as a hierarchy of classes. The classification of data in such a hierarchy poses some unique challenges to data miners. One particular case of this is the classification of GPCR proteins by their function.
