Genomic islands of divergence in the Yellow Tang and the Brushtail Tang Surgeonfishes. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The current ease of obtaining thousands of molecular markers challenges the notion that full phylogenetic concordance, as proposed by phylogenetic species concepts, is a requirement for defining species delimitations.

From omics to AI—mapping the pathogenic pathways in type 2 diabetes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Integrating multi‐omics data with AI‐based modelling (unsupervised and supervised machine learning) identify optimal patient clusters, informing AI‐driven accurate risk stratification. Digital twins simulate individual trajectories in real time, guiding precision medicine by matching patients to targeted therapies.

MOLECULAR MARKERS IN TOMATO BREEDING [PDF]

open access: yesPoljoprivreda, 2015
Although most of the existing tomato cuitivars have been developed by conventional breeding, numerous problems that occur during the breeding process have led to the development and application of new technologies in plant breeding.

Relevant molecular markers and targets [PDF]

open access: yesGynecologic Oncology, 2006
Ovarian cancer is a heterogeneous disease with extensive cytogenetic and molecular heterogeneity including aneuploidy, chromosomal alterations, mutations and overexpression as well as a natural propensity to disseminate and spread, making it difficult to diagnose at an early stage. Insights into the molecular mechanisms operative in cancer development,

The anabolic steroid stanozolol is a potent inhibitor of human MutT homolog 1

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
MutT homolog 1 (MTH1) is a member of the NUDIX superfamily of enzymes and is an anticancer drug target. We show that stanozolol (Stz), an anabolic steroid, is an unexpected nanomolar inhibitor of MTH1. The X‐ray crystal structure of the human MTH1–Stz complex reveals a unique binding scaffold that could be utilized for future inhibitor development ...

Molecular markers of adrenocortical tumors [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Surgical Oncology, 2012
AbstractAdrenocortical tumors are common and incidentally discovered in up to 14% of axial imaging studies performed for other indications. Most of these tumors are nonfunctioning but may require removal because of the risk of adrenocortical carcinoma.

Aβ42 promotes the aggregation of α‐synuclein splice isoforms via heterogeneous nucleation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The aggregation of amyloid‐β (Aβ) and α‐synuclein (αSyn) is associated with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases. This study reveals that Aβ aggregates serve as potent nucleation sites for the aggregation of αSyn and its splice isoforms, shedding light on the intricate interplay between these two pathogenic proteins.

Molecular markers for cacao traits [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Seventy-one microsatellites and 82 SNP markers were examined for their association with flush colour, shell content, seed butterfat content, fruit butterfat content, dry mass of cotyledons in a seed and dry mass of cotyledons from a fruit in 145 cacao ...
