Metabolites profiling of five Eucalyptus species by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry and multivariate analysis

open access: yesBiologia Plantarum
An untargeted metabolomic analysis of five Eucalyptus species was used to compare their chemical profiles. Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) along with multivariate analyses including principal component analysis (PCA) and hierarchical cluster

Sequencing and analysis of the complete mitochondrial genome of Laothoe amurensis sinica (Lepidoptera: Sphingidae) from China and its phylogenetic analysis

open access: yesMitochondrial DNA. Part B. Resources, 2022
The complete mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) of Laothoe amurensis sinica (Rothschild & Jordan, 1903) was sequenced. The L. amurensis sinica mitogenome is circular, double-stranded, with length of 15,341 bp.

Mixing of Pentaquark and Molecular States

open access: yes, 2005
There are experimental evidences for the existence of narrow states $\Theta^+$ and $\Theta_c$ with the same quantum numbers of $uudd\bar s$ and $uudd\bar c$ pentaquarks and also $NK^{(*)}$ and $ND^{(*)}$ molecular states.

Molecular Mechanisms of Schizophrenia [PDF]

open access: yesCellular Physiology and Biochemistry, 2007
Schizophrenia is a complex disorder, where family, twin and adoption studies have been demonstrating a high heritability of the disease and that this disease is not simply defined by several major genes but rather evolves from addition or potentiation of a specific cluster of genes, which subsequently determines the genetic vulnerability of an ...

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Can self-powered piezoelectric materials be used to treat disc degeneration by means of electrical stimulation?

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology
Intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD) due to multiple causes is one of the major causes of low back pain (LBP). A variety of traditional treatments and biologic therapies are currently used to delay or even reverse IDD; however, these treatments still ...

Structural insights into lacto‐N‐biose I recognition by a family 32 carbohydrate‐binding module from Bifidobacterium bifidum

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bifidobacterium bifidum establishes symbiosis with infants by metabolizing lacto‐N‐biose I (LNB) from human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). The extracellular multidomain enzyme LnbB drives this process, releasing LNB via its catalytic glycoside hydrolase family 20 (GH20) lacto‐N‐biosidase domain.

Developing neural network diagnostic models and potential drugs based on novel identified immune-related biomarkers for celiac disease

open access: yesHuman Genomics, 2023
Background As one of the most common intestinal inflammatory diseases, celiac disease (CD) is typically characterized by an autoimmune disorder resulting from ingesting gluten proteins. Although the incidence and prevalence of CD have increased over time,
