Dynamic Polydisulfide Latex via Emulsion Ring‐Opening Polymerization of Cyclodisulfides
Journal of Polymer Science, EarlyView.A polydisulfide latex with a high molar mass was achieved by emulsion polymerization process starting from a dithiol. The mechanism reveals an entropy‐driven ring‐opening polymerization involving disulfide macrocycle intermediates. The polydisulfide particles can be degraded by thiol‐disulfide exchange, and the disulfide fragments can be reengaged in a Sandric Afonso, Pierre‐Louis Quentin, Marc Schmutz, Cécile Joyeux, Cuong Minh Quoc Le, Abraham Chemtob +5 morewiley +1 more sourceSafety, efficacy, pharmacokinetics, and mechanisms of novel 10B‐boronophenylalanine combined with a radio‐frequency quadrupole accelerator in boron neutron capture therapy: A preclinical study in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma
Precision Radiation Oncology, EarlyView. This study demonstrates that the novel 10B‐BPA‐based BNCT system, combined with an RFQ accelerator, effectively targets head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. It induces tumor regression safely and efficiently by triggering DNA damage and activating the ROS/HIF‐1α/NF‐κB pathway, leading to caspase‐3‐mediated apoptosis.Zhaoyuan Zhang, Junyan Li, Minhua Fan, Huafu Ouyang, Qiubo Chu, Huijie Yan, Yannan Zheng, Linxuan Huang, Gui Bao, Zhenting Ma, Shaobo Huang, Lin Li, Xiao Xu, Zhigang Liu +13 morewiley +1 more sourcePapain-like cysteine proteases in Nicotiana benthamiana: gene family members and their potential implications in recombinant protein expression
Frontiers in Plant ScienceIntroductionPapain-like cysteine proteases (PLCPs), characterized by a conserved cysteine residue at their active sites, play crucial roles in plant growth, development, and responses to biotic and abiotic stresses.Yalun Yang, Yalun Yang, Yalun Yang, Zhichao Deng, Zhichao Deng, Zhongqi Zhang, Yong Yang, Xiaolu Pan, Xiaolu Pan, Rongrong Wu, Rongrong Wu, Tao Liu, Tao Liu, Xiaoming Gao, Xiaoming Gao, Lingyan Li, Yongfeng Guo, Yongfeng Guo +17 moredoaj +1 more sourceMolecular Pharming–Produktion von Biopharmazeutika in Pflanzen
BIOspektrumAbstractThe moss Physcomitrella is a promising production platform for green biopharmaceuticals. To further increase production yields of this platform, we identified terminator sequences to be used in future applications. In addition, we investigated which attributes make a terminator a good choice for biomanufacturing.Niederau, Paul Alexander, Reski, Ralfopenaire +2 more sourcesAmphibian‐Derived Peptide OA‐AL14 Alleviates UVB‐Induced Skin Photoaging via Autophagy Activation Mediated by the AMPK/mTOR Pathway
Integrative Zoology, EarlyView. The schematic diagram illustrates that the amphibian‐derived peptide OA‐AL14 protects against UVB‐induced skin photoaging through a dual mechanism: activating the Nrf2 pathway to counteract oxidative stress and modulating the AMPK/mTOR axis to induce protective autophagy. Allergy, EarlyView.ABSTRACT
Hereditary angioedema (HAE) with C1 inhibitor deficiency is a rare disease characterized by unpredictable episodes of tissue swelling (angioedema), which, in most cases, occur first under the age of 18 years, and entail a significant burden of disease not only for the patients but also for their families.Henriette Farkas, Inmaculada Martinez‐Saguer, Konrad Bork, Anastasios E.
