Studies of Molecular Motions in Acylchitin Films by Means of Spin-Probe Technique [PDF]

open access: bronzePolymer Journal, 1982
The molecular motions in acylated chitins, including acetyl, propionyl, butyryl, caproyl, capryl, lauroyl, and benzoylchitin, were investigated by ESR measurements with 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-hydroxypiperidine-1-oxyl (TEMPO) as a spin-probe. Introduction of a longer side chain into the chitin molecule resulted in a remarkable lowering of the temperature

Molecular contrast in optical coherence tomography using a pump-probe technique and a optical switch suppression technique [PDF]

open access: bronzeSPIE Proceedings, 2003
We describe two novel technique for contrast enhancement in optical coherence tomography (OCT) which enables molecular specific imaging. The first, a pump-probe technique, is employed in which a pulsed pump laser is tuned to ground-state absorption in a molecule of interest.

Assessing temporal and spatial variability in Pfiesteria piscicida distributions using molecular probing techniques [PDF]

open access: bronzeAquatic Microbial Ecology, 2001
The toxic dinoflagellate Pfiesteria piscicida has been identified in coastal waters and estuaries along the Atlantic coast of the United States. Estuaries in the mid-Atlantic region, in partic- ular, have been targeted as high-risk areas for toxic blooms since reports of Pfiesteria-related fish kills in the Pocomoke River, Maryland, in 1997.

Probing Molecular Dynamics with Non-linear Optical Techniques

open access: green, 2011
The dynamics of molecules in the gas and liquid phase is investigated using ultrafast optical techniques. The development of sub-25 fs ultrafast sources using noncollinear optical parametric amplification is discussed. These intense pulses are utilized in coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering to investigate vibrational motion in I2 Br2 and IBr.

Regulating endoplasmic reticulum localization of a fluorescent NBD adamantane conjugate by Cucurbit [7]uril

open access: yesChemical Physics Impact, 2021
Intracellular localization of small molecule organic fluorescent probes by supra-molecular control is a fascinating approach. Here, we report an adamantane conjugated nitrobenzoxadiazole (NBD-Ad)-based fluorescent probe that efficiently labels the ...
