Observations of ozone production in a dissipating tropical convective cell during TC4 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
From 13 July–9 August 2007, 25 ozonesondes were launched from Las Tablas, Panama as part of the Tropical Composition, Cloud, and Climate Coupling (TC4) mission. On 5 August, a strong convective cell formed in the Gulf of Panama.

A nucleotide‐independent, pan‐RAS‐targeted DARPin elicits anti‐tumor activity in a multimodal manner

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We report a Designed Ankyrin Repeat Protein that binds and inhibits RAS proteins, which serve as central cell signaling hubs and are essential for the progression of many cancers. Its unique feature is that it does not discriminate between different RAS isoforms or mutations and is capable of binding to RAS in both its active (GTP‐bound) and inactive ...

p21(WAF1/CIP1) expression in gestational trophoblastic disease: correlation with clinicopathological parameters, and Ki67 and p53 gene expression [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
Background--The p21(WAF1/CIP1) gene mediates growth arrest by inhibiting G 1 cyclin dependent kinases and has been considered as a downstream effector of the tumour suppressor gene p53.

Chimeric diphtheria toxin–CCL8 cytotoxic peptide for breast cancer management

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
DTCCL8 is a recombinant fusion toxin that targets cancer cells expressing chemokine receptors. By combining diphtheria toxin with CCL8, DTCCL8 binds to multiple receptors on tumor cells and induces selective cytotoxicity. This strategy enables receptor‐mediated targeting of cancer and may support the development of chemokine‐guided therapeutics ...

Dark matter in the inner parts of barred galaxies: The data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
This paper presents surface photometry (B,V, I, J, H, K) and H_alpha rotation curves of 27 isolated spiral galaxies. The final goal is to obtain the mass distribution of a sample of isolated spiral galaxies in order to model their gas kinematics. This is

Low-gravity penetrometry of asteroids and comets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Extract from introduction: There are a number of contexts in which space hardware may interact mechanically with the solid material present in a low-gravity environment at the surface of an asteroid or comet, possibly penetrating to some depth and ...
