High-Level Expression of Various Apolipoprotein (a) Isoforms by "Transferrinfection". The Role of Kringle IV Sequences in the Extracellular Association with Low-Density Lipoprotein [PDF]
Characterization of the assembly of lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)] is of fundamental importance to understanding the biosynthesis and metabolism of this atherogenic lipoprotein. Since no established cell lines exist that express Lp(a) or apolipoprotein(a) [apo(a)

A new type of Na+-driven ATP synthase membrane rotor with a two-carboxylate ion-coupling motif [PDF]
: The anaerobic bacterium Fusobacterium nucleatum uses glutamate decarboxylation to generate a transmembrane gradient of Na+. Here, we demonstrate that this ion-motive force is directly coupled to ATP synthesis, via an F1Fo-ATP synthase with a novel Na ...

Colorimetric Method for Monensin
Abstract A colorimetric method has been developed for the analysis of monensin, an anticoccidial agent. The principle of the method is adaptable to feeds, premixes, fermentation broth, and crystalline samples. A solution of 3% vanillin in 0.5% sulfuric acid in methanol was used as the color reagent for monensin.

The biomimetic nanoplatform IMNP (ETS1 pDNA/PBAE@ITP‐MM) undergoes targeted disassembly at inflammatory vascular sites to release the ETS1 plasmid (pETS1). This release initiates a cascade of effects that inhibit pathogenic pathways and support immune homeostasis. (Abbreviations: EndMT, endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition; EC, endothelial cell; TC, T

Growth performance and safety of meat from cattle feedlot finished with monensin in the ration
Monensin is an ionophore antibiotic, the inclusion of which in the feed of beef cattle favors the best use of feed nutrients, via ruminal modulation.

Rumen effects of monensin in dry cow diets varying in energy density
: Controversy has existed as to whether monensin will provide equal or differential benefits in a higher-energy, lower-roughage close-up diet versus a higher-roughage, lower-energy diet.

By profiling the spatiotemporal hepatic landscape of CHB mouse models, the originally peri‐portal localized KCs migrated to the peri‐central in a CXCL9‐CXCR3‐dependent manner, facilitating their interaction with HBV+ hepatocytes. The interaction promoted LMD in KCs through ASGR1‐induced LXRα degradation, which, in turn, induced CSC formation via Stat3 ...

Radiotherapy induces tumor cells to release microparticles (RT‐MPs) into the circulation. The mitochondrial DNA carried by these RT‐MPs activates the STING/NLRP3/GSDMD axis in splenic neutrophils, triggering IL‐1β secretion. This, in turn, enhances dendritic cell function and facilitates the formation of cytotoxic T lymphocytes, thereby promoting ...

Comparing the effects of monensin and sodium butyrate on coccidia in post-weaned heifers [PDF]
The emergence of antibiotic resistances has raised concerns in society about the widespread use of antibiotics, such as monensin, as growth enhancers in agriculture.
