Solution Conformation of the Antibiotic 3823A (Monensin A)‐Sodium Salt

Bulletin des Sociétés Chimiques Belges, 1977
AbstractExtensive double irradiation experiments allowed the almost complete unraveling and extraction of the parameters in the 1H‐nmr spectrum of Na+‐Monensin (1). From this it is concluded that the solution conformation is in its details highly similar to the crystal state of the Ag+ salt.

The Effect of Monensin Sodium on Trace Element Status of Cattle at Pasture

1988
When fed to sheep and cattle the carboxylic ionophore, monensin sodium, can produce a wide variety of effects on ruminai function with the main effect being a decrease in the acetate:propionate ratio1. Monensin has been used to increase feed conversion efficiency in cattle and sheep fed high concentrate diets and also to improve average daily gain in ...

[Tolerance, toxicity and residues of Pharmachim's sodium monensin in pigs].

Veterinarno-meditsinski nauki, 1986
Studied was the use of monensin-sodium Pharmachim (MSP) in the form of a 10 per cent premix. The tolerance of the preparation was followed up along with the subchronic toxicity and the residual amounts with pigs. It was established that amounts of 10, 20, and 30 mg/kg body mass at single application produced a lethal effect.
