PEACH FRUIT RESISTANCE TO BROWN ROT (MONILINIA SPP.): A GENOMICS APPROACH.
Brown Rot disease (BR) caused by the necrotrophic fungus Monilinia spp. is a major problem for the peach fruit market, causing significant losses at post-harvest level. Previous work demonstrated the possibility of discriminating between susceptible and tolerant peach genotypes, suggesting a quantitative nature of the BR resistance. In order to uncover

Relationship between the incidence of latent infections caused by Monilinia spp.
Five field experiments were performed in commercial orchards located in Lleida (Spain) over three growing seasons, 2000-2002, in order to estimate the relationship between the incidence of latent infection caused by Monilinia spp. in peaches and the incidence of post-harvest brown rot.

The brown rot fungi of fruit crops ( Monilinia spp.) cause blossom blight, twig blight, and fruit rot in rosaceous fruit crops in the temperate regions of the world. Three species are distinguished, of which M. fructicola and M. laxa are predominant in stone fruit culture, whereas M. fructigena is in pome fruits.

New strategies to control brown rot caused by Monilinia spp. of stone fruit
The importance of brown rot caused by Monilinia spp. in all stone fruit growing areas is well recognized. The infection occurs in the field but the most dangerous fruit losses happen during storage and commercialization. The disease control depends mainly on integrated strategy based on cultural practices and fungicide spray programmes in the field ...

Time-Series Transcriptome Analysis of the European Plum Response to Pathogen Monilinia fructigena
European plum production is affected by mostly harm Monilinia spp., causing full pathogen brown-rot infections. The plums are the susceptible to the Monilinia fructigena pathogen, which is the most common in Europe.

Effect of emulsifiable concentrate (EC) of oregano essential oil on Monilinia spp
Development ог modern fungicides and improved storage technologies during 1960s and 1970s have significantly extended the shelf е of fruits after harvest. However, the use of fungicides is restricted due to their harmiul effect оп the environment and consumers’ demand for less chemical residues јп fresh produce.

Široko rasprostranjene vrste roda Monilinia prouzrokuju veoma značajne gubitke kako tokom vegetacije, tako i posle berbe, tokom perioda skladištenja, transporta i prodaje.
