Evaluation and validation of an RT‐PCR assay for specific detection of monkeypox virus (MPXV)
AbstractMonkeypox virus (MPXV) is a zoonotic orthopoxvirus within the Poxviridae family. MPXV is endemic to Central and West Africa. However, the world is currently witnessing an international outbreak with no clear epidemiological links to travel or animal exposure and with ever‐increasing numbers of reported cases worldwide.

Monkeypox (MPXV) is a zoonosis with a double-origin DNA (DNA), caused by monkeypox virus, an orthopox virus and close relative of variola virus (smallpox). It was first reported in central Africa in 1970 and has historically affected some of the poorest and most marginalized communities in the world.

Monkeypox is a viral zoonotic disease, often transmitted to humans from animals. While the whole world is haggling with the COVID-19 pandemic, the emergence of the monkeypox virus (MPXV) arose as a new challenge to mankind. Till date, numerous cases related to the MPXV have been reported in several countries across the globe, but, its momentary ...

AbstractThe current Monkeypox virus (MPXV) outbreak in non-endemic countries is raising concern about the pandemic potential of novel orthopoxviruses. Little is known regarding MPXV immunity in the context of MPXV infection or vaccination with Vaccinia-based vaccines (VACV).

We report the complete genome sequence of the monkeypox virus strain MPXV-ROK-P1-2022, isolated from the first patient diagnosed with monkeypox in the Republic of Korea in June 2022. The virus was fully sequenced on the Illumina MiSeq instrument, and the phylogenetic tree showed that the strain belongs to lineage B.1.1.

Monkeypox has been a neglected, zoonotic tropical disease for over 50 years. Since the 2022 global outbreak, hundreds of human clinical samples have been subjected to next-generation sequencing (NGS) worldwide with raw data deposited in public repositories. However, sequence analysis for in-depth investigation of viral evolution remains hindered by the

We describe the clinical presentation and ocular viral dynamics in patients with Monkeypox virus-related ophthalmic disease (MPXROD).In this case series, we investigated five consecutive patients with confirmed mpox, diagnosed through a positive Monkeypox virus (MPXV) Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test and presenting with ocular symptoms.
