Polyclonal Antibody against Different Extracellular Subdomains of HER2 Induces Tumor Growth Inhibition in vitro [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Immunology, 2017
Background: Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) has a crucial role in several malignancies. The extracellular domain of HER2 (HER2-ECD) has been extensively employed as an important target in passive and active immunotherapy.

Role of Antibodies: A Novel Paradigm in Mathematical Modeling for Cancer Treatment [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2010
A mathematical model for the quantitative analysis of cancer immune interaction, considering the role of antibodies has been proposed in this paper. The model is based on the clinical evidence, which states that antibodies can directly kill cancerous cells [1].

A Gym for Cells—Direct Laser Writing of Magnetic Multilayered Micro Actuators for Mechanical Stimulation of Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Surface‐attached multilayer micromagnet systems are fabricated by two‐photon crosslinking. The pillar‐shaped micro actuators consist of a soft and flexible surface‐attached cell‐repellent hydrogel layer at the bottom, acting as a hinge and a cell‐adhesive hydrophobic polymer filled with magnetic nanoparticles.

Mapping of CD4+ T-cell epitopes in bovine leukemia virus from five cattle with differential susceptibilities to bovine leukemia virus disease progression

open access: yesVirology Journal, 2019
Background Bovine leukemia virus (BLV), which is closely related to human T-cell leukemia virus, is the etiological agent of enzootic bovine leukosis, a disease characterized by a highly prolonged course involving persistent lymphocytosis and B-cell ...

Bacteria‐Derived Extracellular Vesicle as A “Trojan Horse” for Selective M1 Macrophage‐Targeting in A Multi‐Cellular Entanglement Environment

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The temporary transition of macrophages from a pro‐inflammatory phenotype of macrophages (M1) to an anti‐inflammatory phenotype of macrophages (M2) is crucial for tissue repair and regeneration processes. Bacterial outer membrane vesicles (OMVs) are utilized as a “trojan horse” for specific M1 macrophage‐targeting and anti‐inflammatory drug delivery ...

Double Cross‐Linked Hydrogel for Intra‐articular Injection as Modality for Macrophages Metabolic Reprogramming and Therapy of Rheumatoid Arthritis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A hydrogel for intra‐articular injection for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is formulated and comprehensively studied. After administration, the hydrogel induces a metabolic reprogramming of immunometabolism of macrophages to trigger fatty acid oxidation subsequently inducing polarization of anti‐inflammatory M2 macrophages. This results in
