Parasite evolutionnary events inferred from host phylogeny : the case of Labeo species (Teleostei, Cyprinidae) and their dactylogyrid parasites (Monogenea, Dactylogyridae) [PDF]
Deux phylogénies élaborées de manière indépendante, l'une concernant des poissons, l'autre leurs ectoparasites branchiaux, sont proposées. La première phylogénie réalisée à partir de caractères alléliques intéresse des poissons africains du genre #Labeo$

Gill monogenean communities on three commercially important sparid fish in Omani waters
The prevalence and intensity of polyopisthocotylean monogeneans on the gills of three commercially important species of sparid caught in Omani coastal waters close to the city port of Muscat were determined and compared. Throughout May 2012 to April 2013,

Phenotypic plasticity in haptoral structures of Ligophorus cephali (Monogenea: Dactylogyridae) on the flathead mullet (Mugil cephalus): A Geometric Morphometric Approach [PDF]
Evaluating phenotypic plasticity in attachment organs of parasites can provide information on the capacity to colonise new hosts and illuminate evolutionary processes driving host specificity.

Fine structural observations on oocyte development in monogeneans
SummaryThe ultrastructural changes accompanying oocyte differentiation in the ovaries of the monogeneans, Diclidophora merlangi, Diplozoon paradoxum and Calicotyle kröyeri have been described. In each case, oogenesis in the ovary proceeds as far as meiotic prophase in the primary oocyte.

Structure of the infracommunities of monogenean parasites of Seriolella porosa Guichenot, 1848 (Pisces: Centrolophidae ) from San Matias Gulf, Argentina [PDF]

Workshop no. 4. Biology of monogeneans
The oncomiracidia larvae of monogeneans are small, ciliated, relatively slow-moving organisms with a limited free-swimming life. For example, the oncomiracidium of the skin parasiteEntobdello, soleaeis 250 µm in length, swims at a speed of 5 mm/sec and lives for about 24 h (Kearn, 1967a).
