Analysis of monoterpenes and monoterpenoids

2020
Monoterpenes and monoterpenoids represent a set of chemicals widely diffused in plants whose basic structure consists of two linked isoprene units. In addition to their abundance in plants, monoterpenes and monoterpenoids constitute approximately 90% of essential oils and demonstrate a wide diversity in their chemical structures and biological ...

A lipase inhibitor monoterpene and monoterpene glycosides from Monarda punctata

Phytochemistry, 2010
An 80% acetone extract of Monarda punctata showed an inhibitory effect on lipase activity in isolated mouse plasma in vitro and carvacrol was obtained as the active constituent. It had an IC₅₀ value of 4.07 mM invitro and suppressed elevations in blood triacylglycerol levels in olive oil-loaded mice. Furthermore, from the whole plant, 22 compounds were

A new monoterpene glycoside and antibacterial monoterpene glycosides fromPaeonia suffruticosa

Archives of Pharmacal Research, 2006
Antibacterial activity-guided fractionation of the CHCI3-MeOH (1:1) extract of Paeonia suffruticosa root bark furnished three monoterpene glycosides, 6-O-vanillyoxypaeoniflorin (1), mudanpioside-H (2), and galloyl-oxypaeoniflorin (3). Of the isolated compounds, compound 1 is a new compound.

Acaricidal activity, biochemical effects and molecular docking of some monoterpenes against two-spotted spider mite (Tetranychus urticae Koch).

Pesticide Biochemistry and Physiology, 2019
Six natural monoterpenes (1,8-cineole, (-)-citronellal, limonene, α-pinene, pulegone and 4-terpineol) showed high acaricidal activity by fumigant and contact actions against adult females of the two-spotted spider mite, Tetranychus urticae Koch.
