Monoterpenes and microbial metabolites in the soil
Environmental Pollution, 1990Volatile microbial metabolites were analysed in the soil beneath 15 H year-old Picea abies which had been fumigated for 5 consecutive years with charcoal-filtered air enriched with ozone and sulphur dioxide. Major compounds which could be attributed to the metabolism of basidiomycete fungi were oct-1-en-3-ol, oct-1-en-3-one and 1,3-octadiene. They were

Monoterpenes in breast cancer chemoprevention
Breast Cancer Research and Treatment, 1997A number of dietary monoterpenes have chemopreventive activity against rat mammary cancer. For example, d-limonene, which comprises over 90% of orange peel oil, has chemopreventive activity against rodent mammary cancer during the initiation phase as well as the promotion/progression phase.

Secondary Plant Substances. Monoterpenes
1976Monoterpenes occur in a variety of acyclic and cyclic structural types and derivatives (cf. Fig. 1), and represent one of the largest and most diverse families of natural products. The so-called isoprene rule was the first unified concept for a common structural relationship among terpenoid natural products (RUZICKA 1953).
