RNA‐Binding Proteins and Ferroptosis in Cancer: Mechanism and Therapeutic Implications

open access: yesMedComm – Oncology, Volume 5, Issue 1, March 2026.
Ferroptosis critically influences cancer cell fate and represents a promising therapeutic strategy. Emerging evidence identifies RNA‐binding proteins (RBPs) as key post‐transcriptional regulators of ferroptosis. The figure summarizes ferroptosis‐related RBPs across cancers: blue RBPs act as tumor suppressors by promoting ferroptosis, whereas red RBPs ...

Alfalfa‐Based Dehydrated Silage Pellet as a Source of Nutrients in Laying Hens: I. Effects on Animal Performance and Egg Quality

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 2, March 2026.
Alfalfa‐based silage pellets (ABSP) showed significant results regarding production performance, yolk colour and ω‐3 (PUFAs), as well as the ratio ω‐6/ω‐3 (p < 0.05). The ABSP group also exhibited a higher abundance of beneficial bacteria and a lower abundance of pathogenic bacteria compared to the control group (p < 0.05).

Supplementation of Hermetia Illucens Larvae to Improve Growth Performance, Meat Quality, and Intestinal Microbiology of Broiler in a Cost‐Effective Manner

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 2, March 2026.
Hermetia illucens larvae meal (HIL) improved broiler growth, carcass yield, gut microbiology, and profitability, with the highest performance observed at 12% inclusion. However, lower inclusion levels (4%) offered a better balance by enhancing meat quality and maintaining favourable fatty acid profiles while still supporting productive and economic ...

Precision nutrition in weight loss and neuroendocrine control of people with obesity: The study protocol of a factorial randomised controlled trial (GenON Programme)

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, Volume 28, Issue 3, Page 1661-1672, March 2026.
Abstract Aims Precision nutrition, guided by genetic testing, has emerged as a promising approach for managing obesity. However, robust clinical trials testing its effectiveness in real‐world dietary interventions remain scarce. The GenOn Programme aims to evaluate whether tailoring nutritional care based on genetic risk for obesity enhances weight ...

Beyond nocardioform: Transcriptionally active microbes and host responses in equine mucoid placentitis

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, Volume 58, Issue 2, Page 601-618, March 2026.
Abstract Background Nocardioform placentitis (NP) is an understudied form of equine placentitis historically attributed to nocardioform bacteria, yet it remains uncertain whether these organisms are the sole pathogens involved. Objectives To elucidate the pathophysiology of NP and the host–pathogen interaction. Study Design In vivo clinical multi‐omics
