On the additive image of zeroth persistent homology

open access: yesTransactions of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 13, Issue 1, December 2026.
Abstract For a category X$X$ and a finite field F$F$, we study the additive image of the functor H0(−;F)∗:rep(X,Top)→rep(X,VectF)$\operatorname{H}_0(-;F)_* \colon \operatorname{rep}(X, \mathbf {Top}) \rightarrow \operatorname{rep}(X, \mathbf {Vect}_F)$, or equivalently, of the free functor rep(X,Set)→rep(X,VectF)$\operatorname{rep}(X, \mathbf {Set ...

Predictors of affect across social contexts: An integration of existing diary datasets

open access: yesBritish Journal of Social Psychology, Volume 65, Issue 4, October 2026.
Abstract Daily life is characterized by periods of complete and public solitude, face‐to‐face interactions and digitally mediated interactions when alone or with others, all of which elicit varying degrees and different types of affect. This study aimed to provide a comprehensive understanding of affect during these distinct everyday contexts.

Distinct Longitudinal Contributions of Social Anxiety and Self‐Consciousness to Interpersonal Dysfunction

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Psychology, Volume 82, Issue 9, Page 1434-1443, September 2026.
ABSTRACT We examined whether social anxiety (SA) and self‐consciousness (SC) predicted unique variance in functioning among young adults with internalizing symptoms. We hypothesized that each would independently predict poorer interpersonal functioning and quality of life cross‐sectionally and over 12 months.

Model Predictive Control of Gas Networks Based on Port‐Hamiltonian Formulations

open access: yesProceedings in Applied Mathematics and Mechanics, Volume 26, Issue 3, September 2026.
ABSTRACT To efficiently compute optimal compressor actions in gas networks, we investigate port‐Hamiltonian models consisting of linear and a nonlinear model assumptions. The control actions are derived via adjoint‐based gradients that incorporate the constraints of the underlying optimization problem. We then present results from the implementation of

Impact of Poverty on Health in Developing Countries

open access: yesPublic Health Challenges, Volume 5, Issue 3, September 2026.
This study found that poverty is a key constraint on health in developing countries, and that poverty reduction in low‐ to moderate‐level poverty has a more significant marginal effect on health improvement, far exceeding the impact of economic growth alone.
