4(α-L-Rhamnosyloxy)benzyl isothiocyanate was identified as an active antimicrobial agent form seeds of Moringa oleifera and M. stenopetala. Roots of M. oleifera only contain this compound and benzyl isothiocyanate, but not pterygospermin as previously suggested.
