Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

Adaptaquin is selectively toxic to glioma stem cells through disruption of iron and cholesterol metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

The Therapeutic Effect of Antitumor Drugs Erufosine and Doxorubicin on the Metastatic Process in the Testes of Hamsters with Graffi Myeloid Tumor. Morphometric and Histological Studies

open access: yesКлиническая онкогематология
Aim. The goal of the current study is directed to investigate the therapeutic effect of erufosine (ЕРС3) alone, as well as in combination with doxorubicin (DOX) on the development of metastases in the testes in an experimental model of transplantable ...

Quantifying Bar Strength: Morphology Meets Methodology

open access: yes, 2004
A set of objective bar-classification methods have been applied to the Ohio State Bright Spiral Galaxy Survey (Eskridge et al. 2002). Bivariate comparisons between methods show that all methods agree in a statistical sense.

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...

Survivin and Aurora Kinase A control cell fate decisions during mitosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aurora A interacts with survivin during mitosis and regulates its centromeric role. Loss of Aurora A activity mislocalises survivin, the CPC and BubR1, leading to disruption of the spindle checkpoint and triggering premature mitotic exit, which we refer to as ‘mitotic slippage’.

Potentiating Effect of Nitric Oxide Donor on Antitumor Activity of Doxorubicin in Glioblastoma-Bearing Rats

open access: yesАнтибиотики и Химиотерапия, 2020
The objective of the study was to investigate the influence of the NO donor nitroglycerin (NG) on the antitumour effect of doxorubicin (Dox) in rats with the intracranially implanted 101.8 glioblastoma. Materials and methods.

Fluid flows shaping organism morphology

open access: yes, 2018
A dynamic self-organized morphology is the hallmark of network-shaped organisms like slime moulds and fungi. Organisms continuously re-organize their flexible, undifferentiated body plans to forage for food. Among these organisms the slime mould Physarum
