Future Projections of Heat Mortality Risk for Major European Cities due to Heat Waves
Weather, Climate, and Society, 2021Over the last few decades heat waves have intensified, become more common, pose severe health risks, especially in densely populated cities, and have led to excess mortality.

Projecting mortality for all countries [PDF]
This report is an attempt to develop a method for projecting mortality trends in all countries into the future, both over the short term (for one or two decades) and over the long term (for one or two centuries). Two indicators are the focus of this exercise: life expectancy at birth and the infant mortality rate.

[Mortality results in SENTIERI Project].
Epidemiologia e prevenzione, 2011SENTIERI Project (Mortality study of residents in Italian polluted sites) studies mortality of residents in 44 sites of national interest for environmental remediation (Italian polluted sites, IPS). The epidemiological evidence of the causal association between causes of death and exposures was a priori classified into one of these three categories ...

Using SOM for Mortality Projection
2015In this chapter, we discuss a framework based on self-organizing maps (SOMs) to explore the behavior of populations mortality rates and life expectancy. In particular, we show how to employ SOM clustering capabilities to construct coherent mortality rates, i.e., mortality rates that can be applied unchanged to a wide range of countries. In this way, we

Fertility, Mortality, Migration and Projections
1978In 1976 the Government of India launched a new National Population Policy designed to achieve a rapid reduction in the birth rate. Much of it involved direct intervention attempting to cut across traditional fertility behaviour. To provide an understanding of those traditions is the aim of this section and the whole subject of family planning is left ...

Mortality Projection Using Bayesian Model Averaging
2018In this paper we propose Bayesian specifications of four of the most widespread models used for mortality projection: Lee-Carter, Renshaw-Haberman, Cairns-Blake-Dowd, and its extension including cohort effects. We introduce the Bayesian model averaging in mortality projection in order to obtain an assembled model considering model uncertainty.
