Reproduction of sugar beet mosaic and tobacco mosaic viruses in anthocyanized beet plants
During our studies on the interaction of anthocyanins and plant virus diseases, reproduction of sugar beet mosaic (SBMV) and tobacco mosaic viruses (TMV) was investigated. Experiments were carried out in leaves of sugar beet,Beta vulgaris cv. Dobrovicka N and its spontaneous anthocyanized mutant.

Different BYDV‐PAV isolates exert contrasting effects on aphid fitness, including reproduction and winged production. Different BYDV‐PAV isolates have contrasting effects on aphid dispersal patterns. Aphid feeding behaviour is modulated by the presence of endosymbionts and plant viruses.

Isolation and characterisation of mutants of cowpea mosaic virus [PDF]
A nitrous acid-induced, temperature sensitive mutant of cowpea mosaic virus (CPMV) known as 8-14, (Evans 1985, Virology 1985, 141, 275-282), was characterised.

Emerging experimental and bioinformatic approaches in RNA interference‐based pest control research
Double‐stranded RNA (dsRNA) visualization, RNA‐induced silencing complex (RISC)‐bound sRNA‐seq and RNA degradomics allow investigating dsRNA uptake and processing, guide small interfering RNA selection and RISC‐mediated target mRNA cleavages. Transcriptomic and proteomic profiles of genome‐wide responses to dsRNA, including off‐target and compensatory ...

Viruses Causing Mosaic Diseases of Amaryllis in Japan
A virus isolated from a mosaic plant of amaryllis (Hippeastrum hybridum) in Shizuoka is identified as Hippeastrum mosaic virus (HMV), because of its similarity to the description of HMV by Brants et al. (1965) in host range, physical properties, morphology, and lack of aphid transmission.

ABSTRACT The pest status of pea aphid (Acyrthosiphum pisum H.) in faba bean (Vicia faba L.) cultivation has gained importance because it transmits Pea necrotic yellow dwarf virus (PNYDV), a novel nanovirus in Europe. This study evaluated two faba bean varieties, ‘Fuego’ and ‘GL Sunrise’, grown under sole crop (SC) and intercrop (IC) conditions with oat

Fusions of a transactivation module and a double‐stranded DNA‐binding domain produced effective Cas12i3 variant‐based cytosine and adenine base editors, with improved C‐to‐T and A‐to‐G base editing efficiency and expanded editing window. Generated herbicide‐resistant rice germplasm by using these base editors demonstrates their potential for precise ...
