Motion Extrapolation via Human Motion Analysis

open access: yes, 2011
100學年度許輝煌升等參考著作We propose a novel motion analysis algorithm by using the mean-shift segmentation and motion estimation technique. Mean shift algorithm is frequently used to extract objects from video according to its efficiency and robustness of non ...

Short-term effects of foot surgery on walking-related pain, function, and satisfaction in patients with Charcot–Marie–Tooth disease: a prospective cohort study

open access: yesFrontiers in Neurology
IntroductionPatients with Charcot–Marie–Tooth disease (CMT) often suffer from walking-related pain (WRP), muscle weakness, foot deformities, and reduced ankle dorsiflexion (DF), which affects their ability to walk and daily activities. Functional surgery

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Opponent processes in human motion perception: shear and compression sensitivity, induced motion and motion capture

open access: yes, 1994
This thesis was submitted for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy and awarded by Brunel University.Sensitivity to differential motion components, shearing and compressive (opposed) motion, was examined. The hypothesis that the visual system contains local

Exoskeleton therapy in cerebral palsy: improved gait endurance without kinematic change

open access: yesFrontiers in Human Neuroscience
IntroductionCerebral palsy (CP) often leads to impairments in movement and posture, limiting functional mobility. Robotic-assisted gait training (RAGT) using powered exoskeletons has emerged as a novel approach to enhance gait in individuals with CP ...

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...
