Mould growth on the Norwegian semi-hard cheeses Norvegia and Jarlsberg

International Journal of Food Microbiology, 2000
Visible moulds were isolated and identified from 102 samples of each of the Norwegian types of semi-hard cheeses called Norvegia and Jarlsberg. Penicillium species made up 98.1 and 89.2% of the isolates from the Jarlsberg and Norvegia cheeses, respectively. The most frequently occurring species on both was P. roqueforti subspecies roqueforti.

M303 HIGH HARD – a Corrosion Resistant Plastic Mould Steel with Higher Hardness

BHM Berg- und Hüttenmännische Monatshefte, 2010
Corrosion resistant prehardened DIN 1.2316-type tool steels (X36CrMo17) are generally used for plastic moulds or mould inserts in the plastics processing industry. The most important properties for these applications are corrosion resistance, polishability and good machinability at appropriate mechanical properties and a hardness of about 300 HB.

Machinability evaluation of pre-hardened plastic mould steels

open access: yesInternational Journal of Machining and Machinability of Materials, 2012
There are multiple demands placed upon plastic mould steels, depending on the application they will have. Among these requirements, machinability has generally a great economic importance in mould steels and in pre-hardened mould steels in particular ...

Influence of Injection Moulding Process Parameters on High-Density Polyethylene Surface Hardness

Materials Science Forum, 2020
Commodity polymers are a common part of everyday life. They consist mainly of polyolefins such as polyethylene, polypropylene. They are primarily used for ease of processing, cost and especially chemical resistance. The disadvantages of these polymers are low mechanical properties as well as temperature resistance.

Modeling the Hardness and Mechanical Properties of Moulded Natural Rubber Pad

Materials Science Forum, 2017
The Shore A hardness, tensile stress at specified elongation (100, 200, and 300%), and compression stress at given strain (20 and 40%) of moulded natural rubber pads were modeled as function of ingredient proportions. Nine ingredients of the rubber pad were chosen as factors and varied at two levels of proportions. A 29-5 fractional factorial design of

Tempering Process to Improve Hardness Uniformity of Plastic Mould Steel

Journal of Iron and Steel Research International, 2012
A new design of copper-bearing non-quenched plastic mold steel is presented and explained. Two kinds of microstructure can be obtained from this new type copper-bearing steel via cooling with different cooling rates, bainite and a mixed microstructure consisting of ferrite and bainite. It is found that, after proper tempering process, the hardness will

The magnetic orientation of hard ferrites rubber bonded permanent magnets using the injection moulding

Sensors and Actuators A: Physical, 2021
Abstract In this work the magnetic orientation of the hard ferrite filled elastomer during the vulcanization process is investigated. As base material, the sulphur cross-linked nitrile butadiene rubber with a hard ferrite mass fraction of 80 % was analysed.

Powder content in powder extrusion moulding of tool steel: Dimensional stability, shrinkage and hardness

Materials Letters, 2021
Abstract Powder extrusion moulding (PEM) is a versatile and cost-effective technology for producing bi-dimensional shapes, (e.g. tubes and profiles) from metals, ceramics and cermets. PEM quality is affected by powder content; therefore, three highly-filled polymeric compounds containing 50, 55, 60 vol% tool steel powder were prepared and extruded to

Effects of sintering on microstructure and hardness of powder injection moulded aluminium composites

International Journal of Materials Engineering Innovation, 2014
This research investigated effects of sintering temperature over 660–700°C on microstructure and properties of powder injection moulded silicon carbide (10 vol.%)-reinforced aluminium composites. Mixed powder of 55% solid loading was prepared by ball milling and then injected at 170°C moulding temperature before sintering in a nitrogen atmosphere ...
