Effects of Mould Additives on Hardness Property of Grey Cast Iron

2018
This study investigates effects of mould additives on the hardness property of grey cast iron using silica sand in Kebbi State. Five moulds with 25% iron dust, 25% coal dust, 25% saw dust and 25% iron dust, coal dust and saw dust additives were prepared respectively with silica sand using bentonite as a binder in wooden mould boxes.

Studies on polishing of glass moulds after lapping with hard and soft pellets

Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 1996
Abstract This paper reports studies on polishing of glass moulds that are first milled and then lapped with hard and soft pellets in the optical industry. Investigations were made in the industry as well as in Gintic. These moulds are used to replicate plastic lenses.

Extrusion moulding of hard-metal powder using a novel binder system

Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2003
Abstract A powder extrusion moulding (PEM) process based on a novel binder system, and a 92 wt.% tungsten carbide +8 wt.% cobalt composite powder as a test material, are described. The binder system is comprised of major fraction of a mixture of low molecular weight components (LMWCs) and a minor fraction of very finely dispersed polymer.

Vibration Analysis on Ball End Milling Hardened Mould Assembled with Different Hardness Materials

Advanced Materials Research, 2011
Analytical and experimental identifications on the characteristics of the acceleration signal in high speed milling (HSM) process using ball end mill were studied. Three parts of harden steel with different hardness were assembled together, as opposed to the single harden steel in general HSM process.

Advances in Corrective Finishing of Optical Moulds for Future Aspheric Hard X-ray Telescopes

Frontiers in Optics 2013, 2013
An innovative two-step freeform finishing method is presented, combining fluid jet and precessed bonnet polishing on a common CNC platform. Corrective and super-smoothing capabilities are demonstrated, with application to manufacturing of hard X-ray replication moulds.

[Curie therapy with 192 iridium on a moulded apparatus in the treatment of tumors of the hard palate].

Minerva medica, 1982
Complete regression of the primary tumour was observed when a shaped apparatus loaded with 192Ir wires was used in the treatment of 6 patients with neoplasia of the hard palate, whereas very slight changes were noted in another subject. Fatal locoregional adenopathy appeared after 6 months in one of these 6 patients without prejudice to the cure ...
