The Advanced BioTRIZ Method Based on LTE and MPV

open access: yesBiomimetics
While BioTRIZ is widely employed in biomimetic design to facilitate creative ideation and standardize workflows, accurately formulating domain conflicts and assessing design schemes during critical stages—such as initial concept development and scheme evaluation—remains a significant challenge.

Interstitial 11q Deletions and Terminal 11q Duplications Cause a Bleeding Tendency due to Platelet Dysfunction That Is Similar to 11q Deletions Causing Jacobsen Syndrome

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Haematology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Jacobsen syndrome, resulting from a terminal deletion of chromosome 11 (11q), may lead to an increased bleeding tendency due to low platelet counts or platelet dysfunction. Currently, information on bleeding tendency and platelet function in patients with nonterminal 11q‐aberrations such as larger deletions, interstitial 11q ...

Clinical and Genetic Characterization of 269 Patients With Suspected Inherited Platelet Disorders: The Padua Monocentric Experience

open access: yesInternational Journal of Laboratory Hematology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Inherited platelet disorders (IPDs) are rare hematologic conditions encompassing a heterogeneous spectrum of quantitative and qualitative platelet defects, frequently associated with variable clinical phenotypes and comorbidities. Accurate diagnosis necessitates comprehensive genetic characterization, detailed clinical and bleeding ...

Analytical and Clinical Performance of the Atellica HEMA 580 Haematology Analyzer: A Comparison With the ADVIA 2120i

open access: yesInternational Journal of Laboratory Hematology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction The Atellica HEMA 580 is a novel haematology analyser providing eight‐part leukocyte differential and optical platelet (PLT) counting. We compared its analytical and clinical performance with that of the ADVIA 2120i. Methods A total of 796 residual whole blood specimens were analysed.

Cross‐Species Plasticity and Divergence Under Alkaline Soil Signature Conditions Differentiating PYE From FIT Target Transcripts in the Arabidopsis thaliana Ferrome

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Soil pH is an influential abiotic environmental factor. Here, we identify responses to central stimuli associated with calcareous alkaline soils in Arabidopsis and comparatively explore the potential of the closely related Arabidopsis halleri for addressing how plants cope with local soil pH.

The diagnostic value of MPV and D-dimer for acute DVT [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Thrombosis and Thrombolysis, 2012
I have read the article published by Canan et al. [1] with a great interest. They compared the plasma levels of mean platelet volume (MPV) and D-Dimer in patients with (deep venous thromboembolism) DVT and in patients without DVT. They have shown that MPV and D-Dimer was significantly higher in patients with DVT than in those without DVT.

Infection with the Neorickettsial Organism Stellantchasmus falcatus Agent in an Arctic Fox (Vulpes lagopus)

open access: yesVeterinary Clinical Pathology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT A 1‐year‐old female‐intact arctic fox (Vulpes lagopus) presented for diarrhea, lethargy, severe thrombocytopenia, and hyperbilirubinemia. Blood film evaluation revealed intracytoplasmic coccoid bacteria within moderate numbers of leukocytes consistent with infection by a rickettsial organism.

Hysterectomy for placenta accreta spectrum disorder: Impact of institutional surgical volume on patient outcomes

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, Volume 174, Issue 1, Page 382-390, July 2026.
Abstract Objective To evaluate trends in hysterectomy case volume for placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) disorder over time and compare maternal outcomes between high‐ and low‐volume centers. Specifically, we examined whether surgical volume influences severe maternal morbidity (SMM) and other key perioperative outcomes.
