A simple and rapid agarose gel electrophoresis method to assess CpG methylation of DNA
The presence of 5-methylcytosine at CpG sites in mammalian DNA plays a significant role in various biological processes, both normal and aberrant. Similarly, CpG site methylation status of therapeutic DNAs can affect activity and therapeutic efficacy, as

Liquid biopsy‐based diagnostic evaluation of hypermethylated CpG sites for ovarian cancer diagnosis
This schematic outlines the workflow from biomarker identification to duplex MethyLight assay validation for epithelial ovarian cancer diagnosis using cfDNA‐based liquid biopsy. Initial screening of hypermethylated CpG candidates (cg02957270, cg10061138 cg00480298, COL2A1) was performed in tissue using ARMS‐PCR, COBRA, qPCR and image analysis. Selected

We develop a data‐driven method to derive the mathematical expressions of the Flory–Huggins interaction parameter χ for the swelling behavior of temperature–responsive hydrogels. Starting from initial assumptions of χ, our workflow combines Bayesian optimization, Flory–Rehner theory, and symbolic regression to generate candidate χ expressions.

Forecast U.S. Covid-19 numbers by an open SIR model with testing
The U.S. COVID-19 data exhibit a high-frequency oscillation along a low-frequency wave for outbreaks. A modified SIR model is proposed to explain this spiking phenomenon. It is also used to fit the data and to make a forecast.

Application of Intelligent Systems in CO2 Management: State of the Art and Future Prospects
ABSTRACT Machine learning (ML) integration is becoming increasingly popular in advancing the 4th industrial revolution, known as Industry 4.0. This review paper examines ML applications in CO2 management stages: emission, capture, and conversion. ML models, including multiple linear regression (MLR), multiple nonlinear regression (MNLR), and artificial

ABSTRACT The paper deals with the construction of a synthetic indicator of economic growth, obtained by projecting a quarterly measure of aggregate economic activity, namely gross domestic product (GDP), into the space spanned by a finite number of smooth principal components, representative of the medium‐to‐long‐run component of economic growth of a ...

Application of fluorescence spectrum to precisely inverse paddy rice nitrogen content
Paddy rice is important for Chinese agriculture and crop production, which largely depends on the leaf nitrogen (N) levels. The purpose of this study is to discuss the relationship between the fluorescence parameters and leaf N content of paddy rice and ...
