Methylation biomarkers can distinguish pleural mesothelioma from healthy pleura and other pleural pathologies. [PDF]

open access: yesMol Oncol
We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.

Prevalence of antibiotic resistance gene in different wastewater treatment systems and effluent-irrigated soils through metagenomic analysis [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports
Wastewater treatment systems (WWTS) are considered to be the main source of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) spreading into the environment. In this study, samples were collected from WWTS influent, biological treatment tank effluent, and recycled ...

DNA Methylation in Ovarian and Endometrial Cancers: Predictive and Mechanistic Roles in PARP Inhibitor and ICI Response. [PDF]

open access: yesCancer Sci
Cancer treatment is shifting from an organ‐based framework to one driven by biological phenotypes, and DNA methylation is increasingly recognized as an important factor that governs tumor behavior beyond genetic mutations. In gynecologic cancers, BRCA1 and MLH1 promoter methylation–associated homologous recombination deficiency and mismatch repair ...

GEN-FOAM MODEL AND BENCHMARK OF DELAYED NEUTRON PRECURSOR DRIFT IN THE MOLTEN SALT REACTOR EXPERIMENT [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2021
The effective delayed neutron fraction is an important reactor kinetics parameter. In flowing liquid-fuel reactors, this differs from the delayed neutron fraction because of the emission of delayed neutrons with a lower energy spectrum than prompt and ...

Effect of FLiBe thermal neutron scattering on reactivity of molten salt reactor [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2020
Thermal neutron scattering data has an important influence on the calculation and design of reactor with a thermal spectrum. However, as the only liquid fuel in the Gen-IV reactor candidates, the research on the thermal neutron scattering effect of ...

A Consistent One-Dimensional Multigroup Diffusion Model for Molten Salt Reactor Neutronics Calculations

open access: yesJournal of Nuclear Engineering, 2023
Molten Salt Reactors (MSRs) have recently gained resurged research and development interest in the advanced reactor community. Several computational tools are being developed to capture the strong neutronics/thermal-hydraulics coupling effect in this ...

Development of a liquid biopsy based purely quantitative digital droplet PCR assay for detection of MLH1 promoter methylation in colorectal cancer patients

open access: yesBMC Cancer, 2021
Background MutL Homolog 1 (MLH1) promotor methylation is associated with microsatellite instability high colorectal cancer (CRC). The strong correlation between methylation status and cancer development and progression has led to a growing interest in ...

SAFETY CALCULATIONS FOR MSRE [PDF]

open access: yes, 1962
A number of conceivable reactivity accidents were analyzed, using conservatively pessimistic assumptions and approximations, to permit evaluation of reactor safety. Most of the calculations, which are described in detail, were performed by a digital kinetics program, MURGATROYD. Some analog analyses were also made.

Development and verification of fuel management code for liquid-fueled molten salt reactor based on deterministic code system

open access: yesHe jishu, 2021
BackgroundMolten salt reactor (MSR), a candidate of the Generation IV reactors, has the advantages of inherent safety and good neutron economy. The circulation flow of fuel, on-line refueling and reprocessing are the three features of liquid fuel in MSR.
