5-(carbamoylmethylene)-oxazolidin-2-ones as a promising class of heterocycles inducing apoptosis triggered by increased ROS levels and mitochondrial dysfunction in breast and cervical cancer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Oxazolidinones are antibiotics that inhibit protein synthesis by binding the 50S ribosomal subunit. Recently, numerous worldwide researches focused on their properties and possible involvement in cancer therapy have been conducted.

Self‐Immolative Activatable Nanoassembly toward Immuno‐Photodynamic Therapy in TME

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A quinone methide‐gated, self‐immolative, H2O2‐responsive nano‐photosensitizer (Pyz/PS) is developed for targeted immuno‐photodynamic therapy. Pyz/PS selectively activates within tumor microenvironments, restores photosensitizer activity, generates ROS, and depletes intracellular GSH, enhancing oxidative stress.

Antiproliferative and Antimicrobial Activities of Selected Bryophytes

open access: yesMolecules, 2018
One-hundred and sixty-eight aqueous and organic extracts of 42 selected bryophyte species were screened in vitro for antiproliferative activity on a panel of human gynecological cancer cell lines containing HeLa (cervix epithelial adenocarcinoma), A2780 (

The MTT and Crystal Violet Assays [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Toxicology, 2016
The toxicological effects of nanoparticles (NPs) on humans, animals, and environment are largely unknown. Assessment of NPs cytotoxicity depends on the choice of the test system. Due to NPs optical activity and absorption values, they can influence the classical cytotoxicity assay.
