Sexual mutants of a heterothallic Mucor species, Mucor pusillus

Experimental Mycology, 1978
The Mucorales consist of both homothallic and heterothallic species. Both types can be found in the same species but this is not a common phenomenon. A few homothallic strains are found in the predominantly heterothallic species, Mucor pusillus . It was interesting to see how readily homothallic mutants could be induced in this species.
