Denim Fiberboard Fabricated from MUF and pMDI Hybrid Resin System
In this study, a series of denim fiberboards are fabricated using two different resins, malamine urea formaldehyde (MUF) and polymeric methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (pMDI). Two experimental design factors (1) adhesive content and (2) MUF-pMDI weight ratio, were studied.

Abstract Melamine-urea-formaldehyde (MUF) resin is commonly used in the production of wood-based panels. It can replace urea-formaldehyde (UF) resin particularly to improve wood panel properties under high humidity conditions. This paper presents a life cycle assessment (LCA) study of the production of MUF resin through a case study conducted in ...

Abstract Natural fibers have lot of merits over other established materials as reinforcement which recently attracted the attention of researchers. They are environmentally-friendly, fully biodegradable, abundantly available, easily accessible, non-toxic, non-abrasive, renewable, cheap, and have low density.

AbstractIminoamino methylene bases intermediates are obtained by the decomposition of hexamethylenetetramine (hexamine). These are stabilized by the presence of strong anions such as SO and HSO, that is, “hexamine sulfate.” The effect of hexamine sulfate was closely linked to the strong buffering action it has on MUF resins.

Time delay effect in TMA methods for MUF resins testing
Holz als Roh- und Werkstoff, 2002Materials and methods Melamine-urea-formaldehyde (MUF) resins of molar ratios variable between 1:1.2 and 1:1.9 to which was added 1.5% ammonium sulphate hardener were tested by thermomechanical analysis (TMA) on sandwich joints of beech wood forming specimens of 21 · 6 · 1.2 mm dimension in three points bending and at a constant heating rate of 10 C ...

A method based on the use of 13C-NMR relative peak intensity rations for different characteristic chemical groups, known or supposed to contribute to melamine-urea-formal-dehyde (MUF) resin strength and formaldehyde emission, is presented. The method relates results obtained by 13C-NMR analysis of liquid MUF resins with their strength and form aldehyde

Influence of preparation parameters on the CHT curing diagrams of MUF polycondensation resins
Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2001AbstractLignocellulosic substrates such as wood have been found to have a marked modifying influence on both lower‐temperature and higher‐temperature zones of TTT and CHT diagrams during hardening of formaldehyde‐based polycondensates. While the modifying influence of the substrate has been described, the modifying influence of some of the most ...
