Poor performance of PMUF adhesives prepared by final coreaction of a MUF with a PF resin
Holz als Roh- und Werkstoff, 1996Investigation of the performances of phenol-melamine-urea-formaldehyde resins prepared by final coreaction of a MUF with a PF resin. These resins were used to prepare plywood glue-mixes.

Evaluating the wettability of MUF resins and pMDI on two different OSB raw materials
European Journal of Wood and Wood Products, 2013In this paper, the wettability of two different wood species as raw material for Oriented Strand Board (OSB) is analyzed. One species is pine, a common material for the production of OSB; the other species, poplar, and especially hybrid poplar, is newly used in OSB and might require a modified board production process compared to pine.

AbstractAcetals such as methylal and ethylal are shown to be particularly effective additives in improving the strength of wood boards bonded with melamine‐ urea‐formaldehyde (MUF) resins, although they show some appreciable but lesser effect on other resins too, particularly phenol‐ formaldehyde resins.

AbstractA new sulfonated melamine–urea–formaldehyde (MUF) resin of relatively low melamine content, prepared according to a sequential formulation, has been shown to be highly effective when coupled with different natural vegetable tannins to produce leather with the same good characteristics of leather prepared with chrome salts.

MUF resin is widely used as an adhesive in wood industries, coating technology, paper industries and a main material in kitchenware production. In various applications, different resin properties are needed to suit its application. Important resin properties are for example higher resin solubility, low curing period with lower temperature and catalyst
