Microbiome−host proteostasis crosstalk—An emerging perspective on mechanisms and interventions toward healthy longevity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.

Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

Solving the bi-objective multi-dimensional knapsack problem exploiting the concept of core [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This paper deals with the bi-objective multi-dimensional knapsack problem. We propose the adaptation of the core concept that is effectively used in single-objective multi-dimensional knapsack problems.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Early-Stage Planning of Switched-Capacitor Converters in a Heterogeneous Chip

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
The switched-capacitor converter (SCC) has been widely used for voltage regulation in multicore chips, where energy efficiency is the major concern. However as the overhead to integrate SCCs in a chip is non-negligible, the SCCs could not be overused ...

2022-nf-core-bytesize-bactopia.pdf

open access: yes, 2022
Robert A. Petit III will introduce us to his pipeline Bactopia. A first for bytesize, bactopia is not an nf-core pipeline but is rather influenced by nf-core. This presentation contains the slides used in his bytesizetalk.

Multi-core Reachability for Timed Automata

open access: yes, 2012
Model checking of timed automata is a widely used technique. But in order to take advantage of modern hardware, the algorithms need to be parallelized. We present a multi-core reachability algorithm for the more general class of well-structured transition systems, and an implementation for timed automata.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.
