LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

On some fractional integro-differential inclusions with nonlocal multi-point boundary conditions [PDF]

open access: yesFractional Differential Calculus, 2019
Summary: Existence of solutions for two classes of fractional integro-differential inclusions with nonlocal multi-point boundary conditions is investigated in the case when the values of the set-valued map are not convex.

"Double-trace" Deformations, Boundary Conditions and Spacetime Singularities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Double-trace deformations of the AdS/CFT duality result in a new perturbation expansion for string theory, based on a non-local worldsheet. We discuss some aspects of the deformation in the low energy gravity approximation, where it appears as a change ...

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

Coupled Systems of Nonlinear Integer and Fractional Differential Equations with Multi-Point and Multi-Strip Boundary Conditions

open access: yesMathematics, 2020
We first consider a second order coupled differential system with nonlinearities involved two unknown functions and their derivatives, subject to a new kinds of multi-point and multi-strip boundary value conditions.

(Multi)Matrix Models and Interacting Clones of Liouville Gravity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Large-N matrix models coupled via multitrace operators are used to define, via appropriate double-scaling limits, solvable models of interacting multi-string theories.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Vacancy in graphene: insight on magnetic properties from theoretical modeling

open access: yes, 2017
Magnetic properties of a single vacancy in graphene is a relevant and still much discussed problem. The experimental results point to a clearly detectable magnetic defect state at the Fermi energy, while calculations based on density functional theory ...

Naked cuticle is essential for Drosophila wing development beyond Wingless signaling

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Naked cuticle (Nkd), a Wnt signaling inhibitor, assumes extensive roles in Drosophila wing development. Overexpressing Nkd causes smaller, crumpled wings, while also perturbing multiple signaling pathways and developmental genes. A specific region (R1S) is critical for Nkd's function as a signaling integrator, offering new insights for studying its ...
