Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

MULTI-SCALE MODELLING OF FIBRE BUNDLES
The research deals with modelling of fibre assemblies with a view to increase the computational efficiency without restricting the fibre count to predict the intra-yarn fibre interactions.

Optimal control of a multi-scale HIV-opioid model
In this study, we apply optimal control theory to an immuno-epidemiological model of HIV and opioid epidemics. For the multi-scale model, we used four controls: treating the opioid use, reducing HIV risk behaviour among opioid users, entry inhibiting ...

Evaluation of Ventilation-Induced Lung Inflammation Through Multi-Scale Simulations
Ventilation-induced lung injury is a common problem faced by patients with respiratory problems who require mechanical ventilation (MV). This injury may lead to a greater chance of developing or exacerbating the acute respiratory distress syndrome which ...

The human gut microbiome across the life course
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Multi-scale computational modelling in biology and physiology
Recent advances in biotechnology and the availability of ever more powerful computers have led to the formulation of increasingly complex models at all levels of biology. One of the main aims of systems biology is to couple these together to produce integrated models across multiple spatial scales and physical processes.

Multi-Scale Modelling of Sintering [PDF]
Sintering models at the atomistic, particle and component scales are briefly reviewed and problems in the current generation of sintering models are highlighted. A strategy of multi-scale modelling is proposed and our progress in the multiscale modelling is reported.

Stability and bifurcation analysis of a nested multi-scale model for COVID-19 viral infection
In this study, a nested multi-scale mathematical model is proposed and studied for COVID-19 viral infection. The well-posedness of the multi-scale model is discussed, followed by the stability analysis of the equilibrium points. The proposed model admits

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...
