ON ACCURACIES OF UNIAXIAL CYCLIC PLASTICITY BEHAVIOURS PREDICTED BY MULTI-SURFACE MODEL

open access: yesDoboku Gakkai Ronbunshu, 1989
A stress-strain model which was highly accurate and distinct in nature was already subjected to complex repetitive loads. The model is based on one of the multi-surface plasticity theories. Material parameters introduced in the model are three functions expressing fundamental sizes of multi-surfaces and weighting functions to describe the sizes at ...

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Three-dimensional multi-mechanism bounding surface model for sands

open access: yesYantu gongcheng xuebao, 2017
Within the multi-mechanism framework, a novel constitutive model for sands is proposed based on the critical state and bounding surface plasticity theories. The model assumes that the macroscopic deformation behavior of sands can be obtained by summation

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Gross karyotypic and phenotypic alterations among different progenies of the Candida glabrata CBS138/ATCC2001 reference strain.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
Genomic plasticity is a mechanism for adaptation to environmental cues such as host responses and antifungal drug pressure in many fungi including the human pathogenic yeast Candida glabrata.

Deep phenotyping of coarse root architecture in R. pseudoacacia reveals that tree root system plasticity is confined within its architectural model. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
This study aims at assessing the influence of slope angle and multi-directional flexing and their interaction on the root architecture of Robinia pseudoacacia seedlings, with a particular focus on architectural model and trait plasticity.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

3D nonlinear coupled modelling of geomaterials using the unconventional Subloading Surface approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The purpose of the work presented in this thesis is aimed to investigate the nonlinear behaviour of porous media, in detail soils, by means of an unconventional plasticity model named subloading surface.

Generalized plasticity theory for phase transformations

open access: yes, 2011
In this work we derive a new version of generalized plasticity theory, suitable to describe phase transformations. In particular, we present a general multi – surface formulation of non – isothermal generalized plasticity capable of describing the ...
