Chameleon sequences reveal structural effects in proteins representing micelle‐like distribution of hydrophobicity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amino acids sequence of two different proteins with the same sequence (chameleon sequence—black boxes) represent in 3D structure of the proteins different secondary structures: HHHH—helical and BBB—Beta‐structural. The chains folded in water environment adopt different III‐order structures in which the chameleon fragments appear to adopt similar status

Integrated Decision Making in Global Supply Chains and Networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
One of the more visible and often controversial effects of globalization is the rising trend in global sourcing, commonly referred to as outsourcing, offshoring or offshore outsourcing.

uDecide: A protégé plugin for multiattribute decision making [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
This paper introduces the Protege plugin uDecide. With the help of uDecide it is possible to solve multi-attribute decision making problems encoded in a straight forward extension of standard Description Logics.

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

A Multi-Attribute Decision-Making Algorithm Using Q-Rung Orthopair Power Bonferroni Mean Operator and Its Application

open access: yesMathematics, 2020
The process of decision-making is subject to various influence factors and environmental uncertainties, which makes decision become a very complex task. As a new type of decision processing tool, the q-rung orthopair fuzzy sets can effectively deal with ...

MCDM Farm System Analysis for Public Management of Irrigated Agriculture [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper we present a methodology within the multi-criteria paradigm to assist policy decision-making on water management for irrigation. In order to predict farmers' response to policy changes a separate multi-attribute utility function for each ...

Application of Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) Approached on Teachers' Performance Evaluation and Appraisal [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Education quality is the ultimate result of significant contribution by each stake holder in an education system. However, it is believed that faculty quality has direct bearing on improving and sustaining quality in education.

Digital twins to accelerate target identification and drug development for immune‐mediated disorders

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Digital twins integrate patient‐derived molecular and clinical data into personalised computational models that simulate disease mechanisms. They enable rapid identification and validation of therapeutic targets, prediction of drug responses, and prioritisation of candidate interventions.

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.
