Cyclotron of Multicharged Ions

2021
The JSC "NIIEFA" is designing a cyclotron system intended to accelerate ions with a mass-to-charge ratio of 3-7 in the energy range of 7.5-15 MeV per nucleon. The variety of ions, the range of changes in their energy, and the intensity of the beams provide conditions for a wide range of basic and applied research, including for solving a number of ...

Transition radiation of multicharged ions

Journal of Experimental and Theoretical Physics, 2015
The problem of the transition radiation of multicharged ions at the interface between two media and in a thin plate under the charge-exchange conditions has been solved. It has been shown that the processes of pickup (or loss) of electrons by accelerated multicharged ions at the interface between two media significantly increases the yield of ...

Electron spectroscopic studies of the neutralization of slow multicharged ions during interactions with a metal surface

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 1993
Recent experimental results of electron spectroscopic studies of the neutralization and relaxation of slow multicharged ions interacting with metal surfaces are summarized.

Excitation of helium by multicharged ions

Journal of Physics B: Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics, 1995
We have performed one-centre two-electron close-coupling calculations on the excitation of helium by bare ions with charge 1-24 and energy 0.1-1.5 MeV amu-1. Our results are compared with the experiments of Reymann et al. (1988) and Anton et al. (1993), the second Born approximation and the Schwinger approximation.

Negative ion production in multicharged ion-surface interactions

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section B: Beam Interactions with Materials and Atoms, 1995
Measurements are presented of energy and angular resolved reflected charge state distributions for O-q+, q=1-7, and N-q+, q=2-7, incident projectiles scattered from a clean Al(110) single crystal surface. The measurements were carried out at 16 keV incident ion energy, and at 1.2 degrees grazing incidence.

A reflection lithography using multicharged ions

Microelectronic Engineering, 2001
Abstract A new approach is proposed for lithography with an objective of high throughput and minimum feature size 50 nm and below — the Ion Reflection Lithography (IRL) using multicharged ions. The concept is based on a recent fundamental discovery of a special characteristic of multicharged ion interaction with solid surface: Very Slow Multicharged ...

Polarisational bremsstrahlung in the scattering of a multicharged ion

Journal of Physics B: Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics, 1990
Polarisational bremsstrahlung in the high-energy collision between an atom of nuclear charge Z2 and an ion of charge Z1>>Z2 is studied. The elastic polarisation bremsstrahlung is shown to dominate in the absolute radiation spectrum in a wide region of the photon frequencies.

DIFFUSION OF ELECTRONS BY MULTICHARGED IONS

Mathematical Models and Methods in Applied Sciences, 2000
Here we consider a magnetized plasma composed of electrons of low mean density and of one species of multicharged ions. Starting with the Vlasov–Fokker–Planck equations for both particles, we derive a diffusion model for the electrons, with explicit transport coefficients which are related to the ions.

Interaction of slow multicharged ions with surfaces

Radiation Physics and Chemistry, 2007
Abstract In recent years the interaction of slow multiply charged ions with solid surfaces has gained renewed interest. Basic understanding of charge transfer processes involved in the neutralization sequence has emerged in the 1990s. In this manuscript we present a short overview over refined experimental and theoretical methods which have been ...

Dynamics of fragmentation of a multicharge fullerene ion

Technical Physics Letters, 2007
We have studied the process of fragmentation of a molecular ion of C60 fullerene, which takes place as a result of the loss of five electrons in collision with a 64-keV Ar6+ ion. The spectrum of kinetic energies of the fragment ions with a given mass, as well as the number of such ions, were determined from the shapes of lines in the mass spectrum ...
