SIMULATION OF A MULTIPATH COMMUNICATION CHANNEL

Інфокомунікаційні та комп’ютерні технології, 2023
In the article, the simulation of a multipath communication channel with two bands or subbands (intervals) of frequencies, the system function of which is expressed in a closed form through elliptic functions. A multipath communication channel is a linear system with time various parameters.

Characterization of multipath fading channels: channels with specular components

IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2005
A set of parameters collectively called recentered normalized mean square correlation (RC-NMSR) are introduced to characterize the quality of multipath fading channels with nonzero specular components. The consideration of nonzero specular components requires nontrivial generalization of the parameters previously introduced for wide-sense stationary ...

Fuzzy channel estimation in multipath fading CDMA channel

11th IEEE International Symposium on Personal Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications. PIMRC 2000. Proceedings (Cat. No.00TH8525), 2002
We study a multipath fading CDMA channel and introduce a fuzzy tracking method to estimate the complex channel coefficients in the downlink. The receiver is the conventional RAKE. The results given by the traditional alpha tracker, differential demodulation and known coefficients are compared to each other.

Estimation of multipath channel response in frequency selective channels

IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, 1989
A novel discrete-time method is proposed for estimating the impulse response of a frequency-selective digitally modulated communication channel. The received signal is first demodulated and sampled and then the fourth-order cumulants of the resulting discrete-time sequence are estimated.

Mutual Information of Multipath Channels with Imperfect Channel Information

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 2009
Analysis of mutual information is important to wireless transmission over fading channels, and is usually done by assuming perfect channel state information (CSI) available at the receiver. In many practical applications, however, the CSI must be estimated by sending a limited number of pilot symbols and thus, can suffer from considerable inaccuracy ...

On the capacity of UWB over multipath channels

IEEE Communications Letters, 2005
In this work we compute the information theoretic capacity C of binary orthogonal pulse position modulated (PPM) signals for ultra wideband (UWB) communications over multipath channels. We consider binary PPM signals with random energy and correlation values. Numerical examples are given to illustrate the capacity results.

Non-causal filters in multipath channel shaping

1993 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2002
The use of the Viterbi algorithm in its simplified versions for detection of a data sequence is more effective in the case of minimum phase channels. A method is proposed for equalization of nonminimum phase channels. It employs noncausal allpass filters operating in reversed time.

More on the Multipath Fading Channel Model

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1981
Selective fading due to muitipath on a typical narrowband line-of-sight microwave radio path is represented with a simplified three-ray model. This model provides a satisfactory description of the frequency transfer characteristics of almost all fades observed during three separate propagation experiments. Data were obtained for a 30 MHz bandwidth at 6

Reliable Satellite Communications for a Specular Multipath Channel

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1978
In many mobile satellite communication systems specular multipath exists and acts as a distortion to the transmitted message stream. In most cases there is a singular specular return which can be characterized by a delay and reflection coefficient. If this return is viewed as intersymbol interference on the channel, then it is possible to consider the ...

Simulation and modelling of multipath mobile channels

Proceedings of IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC), 2002
The random time-varying filter theory is reviewed and the conditions of canonical channel models are examined. These are linked to a discrete time baseband simulation using fractional sampling period delay technique and frequency domain filtering for the generation of the coloured complex Gaussian sequences.
