A Communication Technique for Multipath Channels
Proceedings of the IRE, 1958Application of principles of statistical communication theory has led to a new communication system, called Rake, designed expressly to work against the combination of random multipath and additive noise disturbances. By coding the Mark-Space sequence of symbols to be transmitted into a wide-band signal, it becomes possible at the receiver to isolate ...

Estimation of sparse multipath channels
MILCOM 2008 - 2008 IEEE Military Communications Conference, 2008In many communication systems the channel impulse response can be characterized with a parametric form, though the channel estimation is often performed using an equivalent discrete-time linear time-invariant system (usually modeled as a moving average (MA) system). When the number of parameters which describe the channel is less than the number of ...

A DCSK in multipath fading channels
2013 International Conference on Communications, Circuits and Systems (ICCCAS), 2013Performance of Differential Chaos Shift Keying (DCSK) with digital signal processing for wireless communication is analyzed, which generalized application of DCSK into L-path Nakagami fading channels, figure illustration shows that Bit Error Rate (BER) of DCSK decreases as chaotic spreading factor or Signal-to-Noise Ration of power (SNR) increases.

On frequency selective multipath channels
1999 IEEE International Conference on Communications (Cat. No. 99CH36311), 2003The energy detection of continuous phase frequency shift keying (CP-FSK) signals is the optimum noncoherent detection technique yielding a minimum bit error rate (BER) on the additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel. This scheme is usually used when carrier phase estimation is difficult.

A characterization of the multipath in the HDTV channel
IEEE Transactions on Broadcasting, 1992A statistical model for analyzing measured impulse responses of channels that may be used in over-the-air HDTV transmissions is discussed. Measurements made on propagation paths approximating those to be expected in the over-the-air HDTV service show that multipath is nearly always present.

On Subspace Channel Estimation in Multipath SIMO and MIMO Channels
2004Earlier studies showed that iterative processing at receiver may significantly improve performance in wireless communications. In particular, performance of space-time block codes (STBC) extended for frequency selective channels may be notably improved by iterative channel estimation (ICE).

Adaptive Receivers for Multipath Channels
1968This paper reports the development of a system for reception of time-dispersive PAM signals. Properties of an optimum receiver for stationary multi-path channels are discussed and the practical implementation of this receiver is described. Techniques for adapting the class of systems concerned to changing channel characteristics are considered.
