On Barnes' Multiple Zeta and Gamma Functions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
We show how various known results concerning the Barnes multiple zeta and gamma functions can be obtained as specializations of simple features shared by a quite extensive class of functions.

The Hunt In Arabic Poetry: From Heroic to Lyric to Metapoetic

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Islam and Society, 2018
In his book, The Hunt in Arabic Poetry: from Heroic to Lyric to Metapoet- ic, Jaroslav Stetkevych traces the evolution of Arabic hunt poetry from its origins as an integral part of the heroic ode (qaṣῑda) to becoming a genre by itself (ṭardiyya) during ...

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Convolutions and Fourier-Feynman transforms of functionals involving multiple integrals.

open access: yesMichigan Mathematical Journal, 1996
Fourier transforms with respect to the analytic Feynman integral and the related topics: convolution product and its Fourier transform, the inversion formula, Parseval's identity, are discussed for functionals involving multiple time integrals, e.g., of the form \[ F(x)=\exp [\int^T_0 \int^T_0f(s,t,x(s), x(t))ds dt]. \] Two situations are considered: a

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Evaluating Jacquet's GL(n) Whittaker function

open access: yes, 2008
Algorithms for the explicit symbolic and numeric evaluation of Jacquet's Whittaker function for the GL(n,R)based generalized upper half-plane for n≥2, and an implementation for symbolic evaluation in the Mathematica package GL(n)pack, are described. This

A Novel Fractional Integral Transform-Based Homotopy Perturbation Method for Some Nonlinear Differential Systems

open access: yesFractal and Fractional
In this work, we introduce an innovative analytical–numerical approach to solving nonlinear fractional differential equations by integrating the homotopy perturbation method with the new integral transform.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Bounds and algorithms for the K-Bessel function of imaginary order [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Using the paths of steepest descent, we prove precise bounds with numerical implied constants for the modified Bessel function of imaginary order and its first two derivatives with respect to the order.
